    Conteras is Con Man. I was just saying that when we had Casas there, we weren't dumping on his defense the way we are dumping on Alonso's for some reason. Also, Conteras's defense is massively overrated.

    I believe they don't like Masa at all end wind up dumping his salary. Mead is moved to DH. Sogard starts at 2b. Arias is called up during the season at some point. If Story gets hurt, Arias takes over at SS. Will depend on when Story gets hurt.

    Big IF to b sure. They already have Mead plus Seigler, Sogard, Arias and more! Lowe and Jazz both are LHB with huge pull AIR %'s. I just don't know how well that works at Fenway. If they were RHB, sure. They'd lose a lot of the HR pop in BOS.

    Dewey only had a 110 OPS+ (759 OPS) through 1947 PA! Should have released him probably. Mo had a 96 OPS+ (719 OPS) through 659 PA! Not sure why he even was called up as a 25 year old the next season! Suspect!!! Xander had a 100 OPS+ (748 OPS) through 2652 PA! Should have traded the bum! Not good enough for what should be a WS contender!

    Contreras didn't have a lot of RBI this season because the 1 and 2 hitters for the Sox stunk and couldn't get on base.

    Alonso isn't great at 1b, but he's better than Casas was and not many people were ringing the bell about getting him off 1b.

    That's the second season when he was hurt. I'm sure an injured Tony C would have put up worse numbers too. Roman '25: 303 PA, 75 H, 8 HR, 32 RBI, 40 BB, 84 K, 292 AVG, 396 OBP, 859 OPS

    LHB who can only pull the ball. Not really ideal for Fenway IMO. Plays an "interesting" 2b.

    Alonso is a GREAT power hitter. If he's available, every team should seriously consider picking him up. He's also been reliably healthy. Since '22: 4th in HR 12th R 8th ISO 14th wRC+

    Somehow there's passion for DHam now? IDK. People were really upset when MIL was in town earlier this season and he put a bunt down. I don't remember anyone thinking twice about him when he was traded. He was fine as a fill in guy. I still don't see him as an everyday guy (0.2 fWAR '25, 0.4 fWAR '26).

    Too many people assumed Story would just do '25 all over again. I would kind of say the same thing for Romy TBH. He is a guy who didn't get a lot of run and has only had one very good season being something other than a platoon guy. Duran is impossible to project, but I won't hold it against people who thought '25 was a good baseline. Even post-Raffy trade, the Sox were still 8th in runs scored. Can't blame much on moving Devers TBH. It was just Story/Duran/Durbin ineptness early on coupled with the Roman injury that set the season in motion.
