  1. Don't worry, he's only day to day. Nothing to worry about! 🧑‍🦽
  2. I can see expecting more out of Duran or Narvaez, but expecting more out of Story seems farfetched.
  3. If you're going against another team with good pitching that can score and you are a good pitching team that can't score, it doesn't cut it.
  4. With Romy, they knew he was injured on the first day of ST. They decided to go with Monasterio instead.
  5. Having Rob Deere not being Mr December will be a stain on MLB's legacy.
  6. In terms of doom and gloom: Arias has been great, no complaints. Justin Gonzales has a 782 OPS in a league where the offense is out of control. Not really impressive IMO. Godbout is injured. Cespedes is a 5'8" DH hitting 815 in the inflated offense league. Romero has a 689 OPS in second go around in WOO.
  7. Wonder how long they'll stick with Soto that high in the rankings. Ramos is down to 28. Crazy bump for Primera TBH.
  8. Should he ditch the splitter or keep working on it? I think it's clear that Tolle was able to make it to MLB so quickly because he had one unhittable pitch. Eyanson is more of a sum of all parts pitcher. He's able to use his varied pitch mix and dominate a lower level. We'll have to see what it looks like at WOO for a few months where there are more seasoned hitters.
  9. Maybe he waived them off? Maybe the medical staff don't know what they are doing? Maybe they do know what they are doing and we're just looking for things to get upset about?
  10. Duran isn't an All Star. They should have traded that headcase after '24. Roman isn't healthy and has been mismanaged by the medical staff. Marcelo wasn't ready last season and still isn't ready now. He should have been left in AAA last year. Story healthy? Are the Sox trying to win the lottery two years in a row? He's also not a good enough bat to make a difference.
  11. In the playoffs, teams need to hit HR's to get through the playoffs. That's the general theory going around these days. High OBP, low HR teams like MIL can have good regular seasons, but won't find success in the playoffs as they will struggle against tougher pitching. This team is absolutely pathetic at home and pathetic at hitting home runs. I don't think they have any chance at a ring this season.
  12. They should be off the fence, just like the Red Sox. GB in the expanded WC system is meaningless IMO.
  13. No Crochet. No Anthony. Those are two big contributors that would really impact any postseason run.
  14. I want a team that is in the contention for a WS, not the playoffs. It's a big distinction. Even if they sneak into the back end of the WC, it doesn't really do anything for me. I don't think they can run the table against good pitching because the bats will have to show up. Half of the lineup carry toothpicks. Do people really think a lineup with Seigler leading off can win a WS? Even the bullpen is really lackluster to me. This team swept the NYY who are below .500 team without Judge IMO. They also beat the Angels (yuck) and the White Sox without seeing great pitching (I'm looking at you Reid Detmers!). A nice little run, but I'm not taking much from it TBH. The end of July will tell me more about this club (TB/BAL/TOR/ATH/LAD).
  15. They can play baseball, but they can't win unless they are hitting HR's IMO.
  16. "You see, trading Duran after '24 will be a bad idea. He'll still have many great seasons left. He's the motor to our offese." "No, you can't trade Duran after '25, you won't get the right value for him. It would be a terrible decision to replace him." "Look, Duran has no trade value in '26 anymore, you just have to hold onto him!" "DFA Duran in '27? It's better to just keep him as the 5th OFer and hope he can turn it around and hit above 600 again."
  17. Which is a terrible premise. If you are forced into those three decisions, how can you call yourself a CBO?
  18. Good enough to win most games in the regular season.
  19. Almost like they needed to add another bat prior to the season?
  20. Sale 2.42 ERA, 34-14, 398 IP, 502 K Harrison 3.01 ERA, 8-2, 83 IP, 101 K Drohan 2.97 ERA, 4-2, 63 IP, 61 K Meidroth has 1.8 bWAR this season FWIW. That's better than what we've thrown out there at 2b or SS. Not sure what the point is to pile on Perales since he's working his way back from TJS.
  21. Repo Man has a great soundtrack. Watched that a ton when I was in high school. Probably have on seen Mulholland Drive once. Don't really remember it.
  22. Teams shouldn't be falling for the GB of WC nonsense, especially in the AL. If you're hovering at .500 or worse. You are not a team worth investing in. Why spend on a team that would just get SMOKED in the playoffs? Bad business!
  23. Yeah, he wouldn't end up at -82 DRS. Defensive metrics are horrible in small sample sizes.
  24. The Padres are a .500 ballclub. They should be selling. They are NOT good.
