  1. They completely changed his swing. It's going to take some time. I'm not a hitting guru. Should have either changed his swing earlier or kept his old swing.
  2. They'll keep him down until they get the extra option year. They probably move Early back to AAA at some point too. His velo is down and his WHIP too much of a tightrope walk early on this year to keep his pitch count where it needs to be.
  3. They were a 2-8 team that was playing like a .500 team. They are better than a last place team, but I don't see a playoff team right now. 2 GB AL East 2.5 GB AL
  4. Scored less than 4 runs: 7 times Allowed less than 4 runs: 9 times
  5. Scored less than 3 runs: 5 times Allowed less than 3 runs: 5 times
  6. That path? Pepiot: '22: 9 G, 7 GS '23: 8 G, 3 GS I don't think you're advocating for Tolle to be in the bullpen for just 5 outings here. Also, the Dodgers have had far more success bringing in starting rotation guys from outside the org than developing their own. They have a lot of young pitchers, but which of those guys are anchoring their rotation? Which of those guys are anchoring someone else's rotation? It just doesn't seem like the Dodgers are a path of success that everyone should be following here. If anything, they blow through a lot of young arms!
  7. I don't really care about WBC performance.
  8. Durbin: 3 DRS He's not taking over for Story or Marcelo.
  9. KC still can't pull the ball.
  10. In like 10 games. Tell me what his numbers are at Memorial Day and then maybe I'll come around a little.
  11. He just had a 9 game hitting streak and his OPS is still only 717. 🫥
  12. In AAA, he can spend a whole start just throwing his secondaries because it doesn't matter.
  13. Which recent pitching prospects did they do this for? Bobby Miller? Gavin Stone? Landon Knack?
  14. And I'd rather have Durbin at 3B than Cheng. He's not going to replace Story.
  15. I think Tolle's career is more important than April/May 2026. Breslow just needs to cycle through some depth options.
  16. The biggest difference was his k% which was above 25%. It was 19% last year and 12% this year. Just not missing bats anymore.
  17. Being hot in AAA has nothing to do with how he'd hit in MLB.
  18. Sure, but they don't have the ceiling of Tolle. Let Tolle grow in AAA and mess around with the other guys. Tolle will be up by the ASB most likely, he just doesn't need to be up only because Kelly can't pitch. We already knew that. DFA Kelly. Call up Guerrero. Keep churning some relievers and find a guy that sticks.
  19. If the Sox win tonight, they'll have the same record (7-9) as they did last season after game 16.
  20. Walker was a bad defender last year, but metrics have him as average so far. It's April though. If his defense is average and he just repeats his '23 numbers the rest of the way, he's a valuable guy for the Cards. Not a whole lot to get excited about in STL right now as you can tell with the ticket sales.
  21. Castro will have a 750 OPS near the deadline and the Sox will deal him for a reliever. He'll play in the bigs, but most likely not here.
  22. For Walker, it's nice to see a former top prospect finally figure it out. I don't think he's going to get MVP votes this season, but maybe he's cementing himself as a fulltime player going forward. Part of me wonders if the path Walker has taken is what could be in store for KC.
  23. Cheng has never hit before this season. You'd bring up another guy that can't hit??? That makes no sense to me. Monasterio is a passable fielder and is getting on base.
