  1. Red Sox aren't getting to #20. I'm just saying there aren't many benefits to tanking from where they are to tanking to a higher pick other than the larger draft pool. The picks themselves don't pan out the way NBA and NFL high ranking picks typically do.
  2. Since 2017, the leaders in fWAR at 2b (47 total players): Story 2.5 Kiké 2.1 Brock 1.7 Arroyo 1.6 Pedroia 1.2 Romy 0.8 DHam 0.6 Iglesias 0.6 Chavis 0.5 🙅‍♂️
  3. 6'4" and went to an SEC school. The only unchecked box is that he's right handed.
  4. No laser show this year confirmed.
  5. Yesavage's last 3: 15.2 IP 12 ER 11 H 15 BB 12 K 6.89 ERA Boy do I have an offense to get him back on track!
  6. The MLB draft is a crapshoot. The only good part about getting a higher position is the additional pool $ that comes with it.
  7. If KC was on the Pedroia timeline, he'd be having an MVP season rather than in AAA. Mayer has 108 G of lackluster PA's. We are so far beyond the Pedroia comparisons that it's really meaningless. And he never got that much crap anyway! Imagine all the callers to WEEI in 2007 complaining about the FIRST PLACE Red Sox because their 2b is struggling at the end of April. Not reality! In March, Adam Vinatieri signed with the Colts and Willie McGinnist was released. Eric Mangini left for the Jets gig. There was much more Patriots talk on the radio at the time coming of internal changes and the loss to the Colts in the AFC Championship.
  8. 5.5 GB of WC, but only 1 game separates them from last place in the AL. Not looking good! If they haven't made a run by now, it's less and less likely.
  9. That "kerfuffle" is the most overstated thing in Sox lore.
  10. Crappy times can be better than interesting times.
  11. I had a Bo Bichette jumpscare when I opened his MiLB page. Dopplegangers.
  12. Knowing how it has been run here, he'll get about 18.1 and then get shutdown.

  14. Oh, well if you saw him TWICE!
  15. 779 OPS since May 1. It's fine. I wouldn't say "outstanding" if we're really trying to highlight a moment in time. His last 2b was 5/19. The HR's are nice, but they are skewing the overall OPS. The good part of Duran's game is behind him. If he's just a power hitter now, I think he has a lot less value.
  16. Those stats are just SUSPECT. Need to see what he can do in MLB before I make a judgement on what he can do as a player.
  17. If the Sox really stink, does it matter that Mayer stinks at the plate? Or is this move to help Mayer get better?
  18. I think this is the real problem. Henry has turned the FO insanely toxic in an effort to squeeze more money out of the franchise. Dump DD. Hire Bloom. Trade Mookie. Lose Xander. Fire Bloom. Hire Breslow. Trade Sale. Trade Devers. Fire Cora. They are stripping what we know of the Sox for copper. It's just a husk now.
  19. If Gasper is catching, why wouldn't you try to steal every base?
  20. Fan scouts don't do much for me TBH. Marcelo Mayer is a talented player. He just wasn't fully cooked before he was brought up. He had about the same OPS as Kyle Teel and Roman Anthony in POR in '24. People still really like those players and Marcelo was stuck playing in POR during cold April (when many other players in POR massively struggle) while the other two were still in A ball.
