Duran: 258 OBP Masa: 348 OBP Masa has more doubles than Duran in less PA's.

Against all reasoning, they will keep playing Duran every damn day.

https://talksox.com/forums/topic/91289-post-deadline-prospect-vote/#comment-3097843 I think we voted last week at some point after the deadline.

Rumor is that Godbout is being promoted to AA. Maginnis (SS 11th round) and Coates (SS 16th round) will be added to SAL this week. All the other position players that haven't appeared yet are HS guys.

    I think you missed it!

Sox don't seem interested in sitting Duran for anybody for any reason. 🤷‍♂️

If anything, that shield is only blocking external objects from hurting him. This dude's body fails him all the time. He sure could use an adamantium skeleton like Wolverine.

I think he's looking at just platooning Jones with a different LHB? That's my guess knowing moon.

It's less about the handedness and more about missing the top of the order one time.
  11. mvp 78
Also, they could have saved more arms if Bello went longer than 4 IP.

The schedule doesn't list stalwart Seth Martinez!

If this was just to get "Breslow's guys" well most of the IFA's are agreed to long before they are actually signed, some years in advance. It's hard to split the IFA signings between Breslow vs Bloom that specifically.

Per SoxProspects, they signed 34 pitchers in the 2023 signing period. https://soxprospects.com/international.htm#2023

Theo got his ass fired for trading for Jarrod Saltalamacchia after 2 WS wins! These things add up.

Think about all the vendors that get burned after their commercial star is dealt! It's gotta weigh on them too...

    1. If the Red Sox were out of playoff contention, would they have let Tolle pitch longer in his 14 K performance? 2. Will Story get back before the rosters expand on September 1? 3. The Sox finally did the right thing and got the Ryan Watson stink off the roster. Do you think the Sox are kicking themselves a little for being so left handed heavy in their acquisitions? Instead of calling up Gamboa, Rivera or Samaniego, they called up Martinez and Burgos. 4. I know this sounds like an Alex question, but it's a Maddie question. What is going on with the quality of contact for Jarren Duran? He's either cranking a homerun or not doing anything with the ball. It's not just bad BABIP luck, right?
  19. mvp 78
I only watched the final 3 outs of the series so I can't comment on how horribly they played. I heard that the Sox just played down to their opponents. It's MLB. Teams shouldn't be expected to win every series IMO.
  20. mvp 78
They never give Duran a day off. Why? He's probably really annoying in the dugout.
  21. mvp 78
    Today.
  22. mvp 78
He still spent a lot of trade capital on a guy who was injured a lot leading up to the time he was being traded for. Easy to overlook Adley's injury history because of his name/pedigree.
  23. mvp 78
The BABIP is because his hard contact rate is down. He's just not making good contact with the ball anymore. It's not a luck thing.
  24. mvp 78
He was first in all those categories, but still that low in fWAR? His defense must have been atrocious!!! Get him outta here!

Red Sox put a beatdown on Chris Murphy.
