  1. However, Durbin is really good at a couple of important things. The first is bunting... This is not a Red Sox trait. I would lose my mind in a good way though.
  2. Monasterio is a super utility guy. Has 3 options still. Ridiculous 27.7 pull air rate last season.
  3. Romy can platoon IF/OF. There will be injuries.
  4. I'd say they're holding onto him to get through ST, but he's heading off to the WBC.
  5. Alex Gonzales, Lowrie, Iglesias and Scutaro were good enough though.
  6. And financial flexibility!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Batting 2nd: 1000 OPS Late and Close: 883 OPS High Leverage: 805 OPS Pulled Pitches: 1049 OPS K%: 9.9 (98th percentile) Whiff%: 13.0 (96th percentile) Pull Air% 20.4
  8. Yuuuuup... If Casas comes back healthy and replaces Masa in June? If Abreu's HR totals continue to head closer to 30? Aside from Contreras, really not much power from the right side. I don't see Romy continuing to hit RHP very well.
  9. He'd be a good #2 hitter behind Duran TBH. Fast. Takes a walk.
  10. If he can't put it over the Monster: Jody Reed 1989ish? Bill Mueller vibes?
  11. Does NOT hit the ball hard, will pull it though. Was good at 3b after playing mostly 2b in MiLB. I like the approach. He's our new short king at 5' 7".
  12. He just values his players more than the guys that are available.
  13. The problem with going with a Mayer/Shaw IF is that there is a lot of risk that those two guys just aren't fully developed and will still take time to get there. Are they just leaning back into a youth movement? If so, might as well deal an OFer and call up KC too.
  14. Mayer came up and struggled, but was still hitting the ball hard. Just to dip that far for a full season is worrying to me.
  15. He's not hitting with a wood bat either.
  16. What if Shaw is just a guy who never hits in MLB and remains a below average fielder. That exit velo is scary. I would expect some improvement elsewhere.
  17. Depends on the trade. If they are asking one for one, sure. If it was Early as a throw in, then not a fair assessment.
  18. Caleb Durbin - doesn't hit the ball hard, does pull the ball, doesn't chase, doesn't whiff, walks a lot
  19. Per Speier: Multiple industry sources identified Brewers IF Caleb Durbin as Sox target
  20. Per Speier: Cubs have discussed trades that would send Duran to CHC for an IF (Shaw or Hoerner). Sox are unwilling to give up Early.
  21. He played for 7 teams after he left he Sox. Dude was a PROBLEM.
