  1. Good luck to your Rangers!
  2. A's have had no problem sucking for a long time now. They would need to win the next 506 games to have an all time .500 record. It took a literal act of God for them to win their last World Series in '89. They only ever won one 5 or more game series while Beane was GM.
  3. @BostonGlobe Former Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling has declined the team’s invitation to be part of the April 9 Opening Day ceremonies at Fenway Park, a source with direct knowledge told the Globe. What a snowflake.
  4. No, it told the whole story on Manny.
  5. Fake A's fan. ^
  6. We're getting paid by the FO to post and they don't even know we exist?!?!?!?
  7. Damon had a bad arm, but I think Duran's may be worse.
  8. I am thoroughly not confident. I thought it was worth the experiment the past two years, but not this one.
  9. Stop raiding the starting rotation for bullpen arms!!!!!!!!!
  10. He has great speed and learned to get a great jump on the ball last year. His arm is just pathetic though. Probably the worst arm the Sox have ever had.
  11. Need Manny in the OF next to him.
  12. I wish he was more of a base stealing threat, honestly. He is great at running the bases aggressively, but doesn't seem to have the instincts to rack up the SB's.
  13. It's an ok trio, but the only guys that I think could give us consistent innings. Houck and Whitlock? No chance.
  14. It's interesting because I've been following the A's drama and there is a split in the fanbase with some fans wanting to go to Opening Day and others saying that everyone should boycott and anyone who gives Fischer money isn't a true fan. If I was in their shoes, I'd have no idea how I'd feel. A despicable owner who s*** all over the franchise for two decades is moving the beloved franchise and you only have a limited amount of time to see your team in your hometown. Do you just give up your fandom? Do you root for a few more years? Rage against the dying of the light?
  15. I agree. I used to really love watching the Patriots. Over time, I really grew to despise Bob Kraft. I think he's just a scumbag and can't really get behind him at all. All the concussion nonsense that has gone on in the NFL really pushed it over the edge as well. I couldn't tell you the last time I sat down and watched a regular season Pats game on a Sunday afternoon.
  16. ??? The players haven't even had a strike since 94-95. Every stoppage since then has been a lockout and on the owners. The issue is that reporters are beholden to the owners for the most part and a lot of people just don't think for themselves. I think there are enough pro-player voices if you know where to look.
  17. I think the ST lineups with Duran in RF are just to get Masa reps in LF. Duran in RF in Fenway would need a cutoff to get the ball to 2B. He had a runner tag from 2B to 3B on him last weekend when he was playing LF on a ball that wasn't even deep.
  18. Repeat of Mar/Apr '23 Duvall.
  19. I'm content with just leaving O'Neillllll on the bench if it comes down to it. A starting OF of Abreu/Rafaela/Duran is athletic as all get out. No reason to trade Duran until a guy like Anthony is ready to take his spot. Even then, it may turn out that keeping all 4 works out best and you just use Abreu as the 4th OFer.
  20. Wish you would step back from that ledge, my friend You could cut ties with all the lies That you've been living in
  21. Crawford had more starts than relief appearances in 2023. Most of the relief arms have looked good so far in ST. They should be good this year too, but could be run down early as others have said. If Bello, Pivetta or Crawford get injured, it could get ugly.
  22. It's not odd at all. Fans cheer for the players. Owners don't do anything for fans to cheer about except increase prices and ask for the public to subsidize their new ballpark.
  23. It's not the pitch clock. It's the increase in pitcher velo. Murphy was noted to have increased his velo this offseason. Watched part of an interview that Chris Bassitt did and he had a similar take: To me, if you are trying to maximize the performance of the human body, it's going to breakdown at some point.
  24. Crawford has pitched well and I'm relatively hopeful that Bello is a decent starter. Just the pivot to Pivetta being a potential Opening Day starter is GRIM. If I posted last May that Pivetta was 50/50 the Opening Day starter this year, I don't think it would have went over well.
