    Johanfran Garcia was moved to the full season IL list and is done for the year.

    He's played 4 games for the Sox. He could be absolutely brutal this year. His defense could be as bad at 2b as it was at SS. Maybe he just doesn't hit at all? If that's the case, they'd have to find someone else. Mayer? Story? Acquisition? Other internal option?

    And I wouldn't pencil Grissom in as the starting 2b for 2025.

    Casas was the second worst 1b last season. Devers was tied with Muncy for worst at 3b. Can Casas get better? Maybe. There's probably a better shot that Devers is a more proficient 1b than Casas IMO. I just don't know why you'd mess around with them yet to plug Story at 3b when he can't stay healthy enough to be on the field for more than a few weeks a year. Story is a backup player going forward. You can't rely on him for anything.

    Defensively, he's been fine enough this year. If he plays like this, he can fake it for another 5 years or so. Wait until Casas is gone and move Devers to 1b.

    Yeah, that's why I don't know why people are getting so stuck on the rollercoaster this early. Just be happy that the pitching looks good and that the team has been more fun to watch than last year. They are probably going to be a .500 team and there may be some signs of life for the future. The Debby Downers will find all the rain clouds to complain about. Pollyannas will say that they are only a few games out of the Wild Card even though they are 40-41 or whatever. I'll just keep cashing the company's checks and posting through it.

    It's NOT get off my lawn. I like the new players. I don't care about how they wear their uniform. I'm not bothered about their walkup music. I like when baseball is FUN! I just think it was better when the two leagues were separate and things like the All Star Game and World Series felt more special because you'd never see these players face off together otherwise.

    That happened long before I was born. I can't be held accountable for remembering the details of those ones. The 1987 game when the NL won in extras? The 1989 game when Bo and Boggs hit back to back jacks in the first? Pedro in 99? The embarrassment in 2002? You can hold me accountable for that era.

    I tried to watch the Greenville game, but it had no sound. Really brutal. Early let some runners on, but part of it is due to the shaky IF defense there. The IF defense in Salem and Portland is much better.

    Elon is blasting s*** off down here on the regular. I'm sure he can just add some of our personal gripes onto his schedule.
