  1. Middleton and his wife, Leigh, share philanthropic involvement in several organizations,[18] including the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Penn Medicine,[19] the Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church,[20] the Academy of Natural Sciences, and Project HOME.[21] In 2012, the Middletons announced a gift of more than $16.2 million to the Philadelphia School District, Philadelphia Youth Network, Philadelphia Academies and Drexel University for career and technical education.[22] In 2013, the Middletons pledged $30 million to Project HOME[19] in an effort to end chronic homelessness by doubling the number of its apartments for homeless people, opening a new medical center and leveraging additional public and private funds.[23] The Middletons received the 2013 Philadelphia Award, in 2014, for their philanthropic works in the Philadelphia area, directed towards education, homelessness, and workforce development projects On the Free Agency offseason with Bryce Harper: "We're going into this expecting to spend money," Middleton told USA Today Sports this week. "and maybe even be a little bit stupid about it." We may have to sweeten the pot and send them Mayer and Teel along with Henry!
  2. Can we swap owners?
  3. They already had JD at DH. Where were they going to play him?!?!?!?! He was not worth his contract last year and may not be this year either. (Neither was Story though.)
  4. And his defense at 1b must be really horrendous because the Sox quit that experiment early on this Spring.
  5. Yeah, he only acquired DFA guys. It's not like he went out and did a legit trade.
  6. The problem with quality is that a few arm injuries and your farm is cooked. Quantity is important at times.
  7. People aren't conserving their own water anymore? Haven't they read Dune?
  8. Worst this year: cutter Most strain: sweeper
  9. I'd have Whitlock dump his cutter. I think a sinker/slider/changeup combo is good enough for a reliever. If his body can't hold up to a starter's workload, just further develop those 3 pitches.
  10. He's still in Spring Training mode while the rest of the league is in midseason form.
  11. 94 games spread across 4 years. Part time players aren't going to get 1,000 PA's very quickly.
  12. If that happens, they may not be able to take Roman Anthony in the following year.
  13. A HS LHP throwing 91 in 2011 was not a bad get. The problem with him wasn't even velo, but the BB rate that exploded when he turned 23. He was still a good prospect at 22, but completely lost it.
  14. He's not a very good IFer when I've seen him. Maybe he can be a UTIL type?
  15. He's had a good start to the season, but needs to do it for a longer period of time and maybe reach AA before he has a lot of trade value. He hasn't pitched very well prior to this season.
  16. Cool, he's Rule 5 eligible this offseason. I'm not adding him. He's fallen behind other prospects and has had a string of middling seasons. He's not athletic. He doesn't have a lot of power. He's not a great fielder. His hit tool took a step backwards in the past few years.
  17. @TJStats Nico Kavadas has been one of the best hitters in AAA this season, posting a 195 wRC+ in 122 PA He has displayed a fantastic eye and power highlighted by his 18.0 BB% and 21.7 Barrel%. His contact metrics are lacking and is very patient, but he launches baseballs when he connects @JustinMLB 64% whiff on breaking balls @IanCundall His splits against velo are problematic also
  18. No clue.
  19. Duran CF, Abreu RF, Wong DH, Devers 3B, O’Neill LF, Smith 1B, Grissom 2B, McGuire C, Rafaela SS
  20. @SmittyOnMLB Pivetta vs. the Rays tonight. Arozarena is 7-for-19 (.368) with a homer, 2 doubles and 4 walks vs. Pivetta. Paredes is 4-for-10 (.400) with 3 homers and 3 walks. Harold Ramírez is 5-for-17 (.296) with a double and triple. Yandy Díaz is 6-for-21 (.286) with 3 doubles, 7 walks
  21. @MLBPipeline Miguel Bleis did a little bit of everything for the @salemredsox: HR 2B BB 2 SB The @RedSox No. 4 prospect has a .975 OPS in 10 May games. https://twitter.com/MLBPipeline/status/1790436264979702266
  22. You just run the risk of having a lefty 1B sitting on your 40 man who is behind both Casas and Masa. I agree that there could be a path to playing time, but he's forever on a 40 man once he's added.
