    The Bagwells would be Campbell, Anthony Bleis, Cespedes and maybe Montgomery. I'm not saying they will be, but they are the guys with that ceiling.     I'd do Abreu, Crawford and Fitts. It may not work out, but it's a great upside play and doesn't kill you if it fails.

    Lots of Adames talk right now. Per Statcast, 152 career HR's only 115 would have been HR at Fenway. He's a RHB, but I'm not really feeling Adames. If they didn't have Story already, fine. Seems like too much money when they already have other intriguing MIF options coming up soon.

    I haven't played around with the budget mechanism yet, so thanks for letting me know about the budget piece. I would say that if a budget comes out to 200M, it doesn't leave that much of room for the CBT due to player benefits, normal season churn of players, in season moves, pay for 27-40 man spots, etc. Seems fine enough for this though.

    Zero chance the Sox start the season over the CBT IMO. Kutter would also be put in the pen before Gio. Where did Pivetta go?

    I would NOT trade multiple top 100 guys for him. He couldn't pitch the whole season. He didn't want to be traded during the year. He has no track record. We see pitchers fall off really quick due to injury. This guy seems like he'd be a prime case for that.

    The White Sox are going to ask for too much for a guy who has only thrown 219 innings and is only controllable through 2026. Sorry, Cease is NOT comparable.

    Yeah, could have had him last year if they offered him more AAV. Now they'd have to offer him even more than they would have last season. Bad business!

    There's a little bit of flukiness to some of Story's issues, but the arm problem was already known and should have been handled early on. I hope he can have at least one good year and get some fans behind him, but it's been a real rough go for him. No idea what to expect out of Gio coming off surgery.

    I don't know what Robert's value is at the moment. He's a big injury guy coming off a bad year, but has team control through 2027. I'm not sure what team would give up a top prospect for him.

    To me, I just believe there's value in the quantity and quality of prospects # 7, 8, 11 and 12 vs the quality of this # 2. If the trade was Arias, Fitts and Sandlin vs Mayer, I'd probably rather have Mayer. It's just the overall quantity and quality of the people added to the trade that gave me pause as well as my overall feelings on Mayer.

    Sandlin has starter upside. The Red Sox and scouts still believe he's a starter going forward. I haven't heard SoxProspects even hint at a bullpen role going forward. If he was a relief profile, he wouldn't be ranked anywhere near the top 10. Bleis started off slow at Salem, but ended very strong. He struggled after a move to Greenville and was popping everything up. The belief is that an offseason tweak will turn things around for him. Arias showed a lot of potential in FCL. He struggled at Salem as many hitters due because that park is awful and it's a big transition. I'm not super high on him but am interested in following him going forward. Fitts is an up and down guy now, but provides 6 years of value for an MLB arm going forward. Mayer is an oft injured SS who struggles with offspeed pitches and has split concerns. He is not the high ceiling prospect that some people believe he is. He won't be a perennial All Star. He won't match the production of Xander Bogaerts. His best case scenario is a tier below like Brandon Crawford, a valuable starter long term who may have some breakout seasons here and there.

    I'd rather trade Mayer than give up Arias, Bleis, Sandlin and Fitts.
