    Per the game logs, he never went 2 for 3 against Langston as an Angel. In 1990, he went 2-5 with one double. That was his best performance and maybe what he was misremembering.

    It would have been well after that affair was made public. He states that it was a cross country pitch to CA where he played against Mark Langston the following day and went 2-3. Langston didn't pitch for the Angels until the 90's.

    I agree with your point and had mentioned something similar previously. I stated that they should have dumped Van Belle (if they had to) to grab Lauer or one of the remaining starters.

    Whitlock was a prospect as he was taken in the Rule 5 draft and had never played in MLB before. Bernardino had played in MLB and was over 30. Unlike Whitlock, he was never "ranked" in the system. Is Jamie Westbrook considered a Sox prospect? I'd say no. He's just a AAA journeyman. If he makes it to the show and "graduates" he'd show up the same as Bernardino.

    How many beers did Wade Boggs realistically drink on that plane? The original story was 73, then he recently upped it to 107. It was probably 35 at most, right?

    I just don't believe it even looks like he wouldn't have signed here. A lot of people say that, but that's their personal bias IMO. Sox cut off the negotiation. What was Mookie supposed to do?

    Dobbins and Fitts have pitched well so far. Perales and Wikelman have turned their seasons around after starting off rough.

    Bloom didn't draft or develop pitching very well. Bloom did a good job building up a stock pile of guys, but not many notable pitchers. Breslow acquired 3 of the top 5 pitching prospects (per SoxProspects).

    They offer 300, he counters for 400. He ends up signing for 360. But it looks like he would have never signed for that with the Sox! How? Sox never countered! Saying he wasn't going to sign here is just running interference for Henry IMO.

    If they are re-signing Betts, they aren't extending Sale. That's one contract off the books.
