    Nobody in their right mind believes Jarren Duran is going to repeat his 2024 season. I would have been right to trade for Duran PLUS for Paredes. 2026 has proven that. 🤷‍♂️

    I don't think pedal to the metal works in April, but you can't dig yourself the hole that the Sox dug themselves in. The reason the Sox are having to rest their stars now is because they are overworked from having to climb back in. They had to treat every July game like it was the playoffs rather than the regular season. They aren't as bad as they were in April and May, but they aren't as good as they were in July either. The question is what is this team going forward?

    Sox had enough assets to deal Duran PLUS to get a Paredes deal done. They just overstated how much Duran was worth. That was a big swing and a miss IMO.

    Drohan was a Rule 5 draft pick 2 seasons ago. I wasn't going to let his performance that year impact how I saw him going forward, especially when he had less than 10 innings pitched in the White Sox org and was coming off an injury. He showed enough in '25 that he was a legit depth piece (AAA: 11 GS, 47.2 IP, 2.27 ERA). Crawford was 12th percentile barrel % and 7th percentile GB % in '24. That's not going to cut it in Fenway long term. Will be happy if he never pitches for the Sox again.

    The rotation regressing is one thing. Believing that Gasper, Sogard, et al will carry the Sox to the WS is foolish. They are bench pieces. If they are starting games, it's a problem.

    I would have expected more from Drohan TBH. Crawford had a lingering injury that kept him out all of last year after a season where he lead the league in HR allowed. The silence surrounding Kutter's return and place on the roster was deafening. I don't think Bres believes in his stuff at all.

    They could also use Drohan. Astros were looking to dump Paredes.

    Oviedo hasn't been the picture of health in his career. Crawford hasn't seen the mound in two years at this point. He may never pitch again for the Sox. Why expect anything from him?

    In a short series, I like our chances if the starters are Gray, Tolle and Bennett. Suarez is really going through it right now. Sandoval will not be in the rotation. No bullpen games or Paez.

    To me, it's less about future years and more about using those assets towards other trades that could have been more productive for the Sox.

    IDK. I think he'd be a really bad 2b. Not sure the MIF situation would be great defensively if he was there. He's more of a future DH IMO. I'd project for 27 that Roman would play more OF and Mead more DH.

    Injuries have steamrolled on him since the start of last season. His mediocre play has been since the start of 24.

    Considering the offensive numbers in A-, A and AA, Baseball America has posited that those leagues are using juiced baseballs. It wouldn't be the first time this has happened. The pitching numbers at the low levels have been disgusting this year.

    Gray and Suarez didn't replace Harrison, Drohan or Dobbins. They came in to be #2 and #3 starters, so replacing Giolito and Bello. Other rotation arms that left at the end of the season: Richard Fitts, Dustin May, Walker Buehler and Cooper Criswell.

    It's always a rollercoaster for guys coming off TJS. The first year is typically the worst. IMO, his last good season was '22. Unfortunately, his current pitching isn't that far off from how he performed in '24. He's not a guy I'd look into bring back next season unless he's even cheaper than he is now.

    You can repackage an argument into a turd if you want. I don't care. They traded away their depth. Their depth last season was atrocious and the reason they got knocked from the playoffs. They fixed their rotation for 2026, BUT traded away much of their depth options. Both parts can be true.
