  1. Sox still have a commanding lead with 8 We Trieds this offseason. Next closest team is at 5. Really impressive bit of business.
  2. SoxProspects had 11 other pitching prospects ahead of Rodriguez at the time of the trade.
  3. About where they were at the end of last season. Seems fair.
  4. I don't believe a RHB is really all that necessary with Story coming back and Campbell being added into the mix. Also, Devers and Casas don't have platoon issues. Furthermore, here are the park factors for Fenway: RHB: 104 park factor, 108 runs LHB: 110 park factor, 121 runs Fenway favors left handed batters!
  5. Any other team could do what the Dodgers are doing.
  6. If Fulmer is being stretched out, it's to fill a Chase Andersen type role. I think they'll have multiple guys that are able to throw multiple innings out of the pen, especially if they are considering a six man rotation.
  7. Are you expecting him to just throw his whole plan out there for the public and other teams to see. What purpose would that serve?
  8. Roman Anthony #1 prospect in baseballKristian Campbell Closer to Roman than some might think.Marcelo Mayer With Teel and Montgomery out of the picture, he's the clear #3 without much discussion.Luis Perales I don't want to ding him for getting injured so I'm leaving him where I would have had him prior to injury.Franklin Arias Needs to hit outside of the FCL to get any higher. Miguel Bleis Probably at risk of falling if he has a slow start in 2025.Yoeilin Cespedes Needs a defensive home and more PA's. Richard Fitts Low ceiling/high floor? Mikey Romero Added power, needs to be able to maintain the hit tool. Jhostynxon Garcia Recently added to the 40 man. Not sure when he will get to MLB. Late 2026 at earliest? Johanfran Garcia Good hit tool. Has work to do behind the plate. David Sandlin Ultimately a relief profile? Yordanny Monegro Needs to work on his fastball. May be limited once he hits AA. Payton Tolle Could have helium once the season starts. Hunter Dobbins May get some run in the BOS rotation in '25. Juan Valera Long way to go. Needs to figure out a third pitch. Luis Guerrero Pitched very well down the stretch. Will lose prospect eligibility early on in '25. Connelly Early LHP with a lot of tools. Should be able to handle himself well through the minors and have some sort of MLB impact either in the back end of the rotation or in the pen. Dalvinson Reyes Has 3 pitches. Throws strikes. Limited by strength and conditioning in '24.Justin Gonzales Large frame. Lots of power. 1B/LF/DH only most likely.
  9. But they have Crawford and Julio Rodriguez and Arozarena and...
  10. Henry has been putting all his eggs in the Big Three basked even before Campbell was invited to the party. I think it has been a mistake as not all prospects work out and even the best ones aren't always perfect right out of the box. Why put all that pressure on young guys to perform without surrounding them with the right talent? The great thing about adding these young studs is that they are CHEAP and can be surrounded with expensive guys in the short term before their contracts get big.
  11. But you guys want some treats now!
  12. Previously on Bregman hits a dinger: ERod, Doug Fister, Price, Phillips Valdez, Bello.
  13. If Grissom gets run at SS, I'm asking for a refund on the season even if they are punting.
  14. He was OPSing 714 on 8/3 and then hit 896 the rest of the way. Not sure what was going on with him last year, but I don't believe he was working his way back from an injury. He's... Just... Getting... Old... Expecting OPS above 800 for him going forward would be foolish even with half of his games at Fenway IMO. HOU was already tailor made for his swing. It's not like he's going to see a magical bounce from a shorter porch.
  15. If Bregman was on the Sox in prior years: 2024: 6th in OPS 2023: 5th in OPS 2022: 3rd in OPS 2021: 7th in OPS (tied with Verdugo) 2020: 6th in OPS (tied with Vazquez) 2019: 1st in OPS (buzzer year) 2018: 3rd in OPS 2017: 1st in OPS (trash can year)
  16. Just found a "significant move" the Sox could make.
  17. He was basically David Hamilton at SS 6 years ago. Does that mean he'd necessarily be a good 2B now? I'm not so sure. I don't know why the Sox are so interested in putting players at positions where they don't really belong.
  18. Signing one more impact arm could go a long way.
  19. The window was open until your cliff. The window hasn't been opened again and will remain shut until further notice. Saying it should be now is basically meaningless. It's just a fans impatience.
  20. He'd be ok at 2B. He hasn't really played much MIF in the past few years and should be a corner IFer as he ages most likely. His best fit is 3B. Moving him to 2B just clogs up the roster for Mayer and Campbell, guys who will be better than Bregman in a few years. I personally don't believe they need to add a RHB due to Story coming back and Campbell getting promoted. Casas and Devers don't have platoon issues. Anthony doesn't seem to have platoon issues in MiLB, which is generally indicative of future success.
  21. I would have assumed that a former pitcher like Breslow would be more likely to focus on Catcher, but that hasn't been the case. He just collects depth third catcher types.
  22. That's why I wouldn't want him playing 2B. I'm not entirely sure what his market is. I'd be happy with a 3 year deal, but he'll want 5-6 I'm guessing.
  23. Corbin Burnes, Blake Snell or Max Fried was a significant move for the rotation. Aside from Soto, signing Walker, Adames or Bregman would be significant. I think signing Bregman for 3b would be significant, but that seems to be off the table or it would have been done by now. Trading for Arenado is NOT significant and likely a bad idea. Trading for one of the Mariners starters would be significant.
  24. They didn't miss the playoffs in '19, '20, '22, '23 or '24 because of his defense.
