  1. Rafaela had a -7 OAA last year (-8 for 23/24), but I'd take him over Romy or Hamilton going forward to be the SS. I'm willing to ignore Kiké's -12 OAA.
  2. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/red-sox-add-walker-buehler-to-talented-risk-filled-rotation/
  3. If they were to make a move simply for the projections, it would be to sign Bregman's 4.2 fWAR and move Devers to DH/1B. Grandal for C would be a decent timeshare option too.
  4. Not sure the sample size is large enough for me to determine if he's better at SS than Hamilton. The only benefit to Romy is that he can play every position except C.
  5. I asked my magic 8 ball if they'd be .500ish this year and it said "you may rely on it."
  6. Penrod was older and had to be added to the 40 man by the end of the year or would have been a FA. He was rushed and not necessarily deserving.
  7. Bonds for Leyritz, Bernie, Fox and Drews (seems light to go with Fox IMO) Griffey for Rivera, Ledee (writer noted Ledee as a can't miss premier prospect, but he wasn't in the Yanks top 10 at the time and still in A ball) IMO, I think they can get the Bonds deal done, but there's no way that Griffey deal works out. That's just yuck.
  8. The win total and a conversation about "the FO didn't do enough because they are 14th in projected fWAR for batters" are two completely different things.
  9. He was going to include Jeter and Posada in those deals. 100%
  10. I believe Story is a better SS. Once Story is injured, Mayer can switch back to SS. Grissom has a pretty bad arm, so I don't know how great he'd be at 3B. Romy is a low ceiling DFA candidate. I'd rather have a real player as my everyday 3B.
  11. I'd be more comfortable with Masa transitioning to a switch hitter than bringing Arenado on. 🙃
  12. I'd rather Mayer skip AAA and go straight to 3B. Take our lumps this year with the Big Three.
  13. Can't wait to go to Fenway this July and get a good F-S-G chant going in the stands.
  14. And I thought I'd be the high person on Early and Romero!
  15. They'd bow down to the financial might of FSG!
  16. After 80k posts, you get a little feral.
  17. Maybe they'd do that because Romy can play 1B? I don't like it though.
  18. I don't think the "should have" really tips the balance for me. I think actuals are more important when you are looking at annual awards.
  19. Arenado: 356 xSLG in 2024 😖
  20. I don't think any of these guys are on track to helping the big club in '25.
  21. If they are adding a hitter, I'm not DFA'ing a pitcher. I'd 60 man Sandoval for Anthony and DFA Sogard for Campbell.
