  1. 3/28 - 5/1: 98 PA's 452 OPS 5/30 - 7/6: 84 PA's 961 OPS 8/9 - on: 41 PA's 409 OPS Just depends on if anyone believes in the 5/30-7/6 call up sample.
  2. Horn and Mata could be DFA'd. I think the Sox could swing a trade for Valdez. He still has some value somewhere.
  3. What would really be the difference between Chris Sale at age 35 having a bounce back and deGrom having a bounce back at age 37? 🤔
  4. I think everyone's cheeks were clenched enough to not let anything get in this time. 🛡️
  5. Fulmer probably is swapped in for Horn or another pitcher (Mata?). Dobbins seems like a sure lock and potential depth option for '25. If they wanted to trade Valdez for a non 40 man guy and add Jhostynxon, it's not the worst idea in the world.
  6. Kendrik: "Looking back, in hindsight, a horrible decision to have invested that money in a guy that performed as poorly as he did. It was or biggest mistake this season from a talent standpoint. And I'm the perpetrator of that.''
  7. Breslow did get some things right this year:
  8. I liked the Cards in the 80's when they had Ozzie Smith and played small ball. Haven't cared since the Wiz retired.
  9. How could you say that?! Shugart was the Red Sox MiLB reliever of the year!
  10. I don't think it's a big part at all. Ward and Drohan were both expected to be taken early on in the Rule 5 process. They clearly valued the open space on the 40 man for offseason moves for middling relievers above having those two on their roster. My guess is that either Ward or Drohan could have been dealt cheaply prior to the Rule 5 protection date if they wanted to.
  11. As devil's advocate (and original Jhostynxon #1 fan), putting him on the 40 man now looks like this: Option Year 1: AA (age 22) Option Year 2: AAA (age 23) Option Year 3: AAA/MLB (age 24) 2028: MLB, no options remaining (age 25, current age of Wilyer Abreu) With the scouting questions about his hit tool, it may make sense to just have him go through another year not clogging the 40 man. He's a good, not great prospect. He can play all 3 OF positions and has power (that was bumped up a lot by his home numbers in GRE). Under a different CBO, there is a great chance they protect him IMO.
  12. The trade sucked, but Chris Sale was great for BOS while he was here. I hope he can get back on a HOF track.
  13. Last year, the only players they added were Wikelman and Perales. Ryan Fernandez and Shane Drohan were both taken in the draft. Ryan Fitzgerald was taken in the MiLB portion. Breslow seems to be aggressive in letting guys run through the Rule 5 process. We also tend to overproject the amount of the players that the Sox protect prior to the draft. Garcia may be one of those guys that gets another year before he's put on the 40 man.
  14. I followed the Doyers when I could listen to Vin Scully on the radio. Otherwise, I don't care.
  15. I don't root for other teams, but it would be very cool if the Tigers had a little run this postseason. They would have gone from sellers at the deadline to an improbable postseason run. They haven't won a playoff game since Torii Hunter fell into the Fenway bullpen. They were under .500 8 of the previous 9 seasons. Aside from Skubal, most people couldn't name their other players. Honestly, I root against teams with too many former Red Sox.
  16. If that's the case, the original post could/should just be: My realistic view is 2025 tge Sham Continues. 😎
  17. The current CBO/POBO is just a lame duck. Just like in SF where Buster Posey started extending guys before he had the job, Bloom probably has the power.
  18. Garcia isn't a pitcher. I'm not sure you can compare him to those 40 man guys.
  19. What about a straight salary dump for a low A player and have the Cards take the whole contract?
  20. AZ could go as well.
  21. I like Garcia a lot, but he only hit 706 in AA after being called up. There are still questions about his overall hit too as he climbs the ladder.
  22. Eddie Romero Jr is a better fit. His dad played for the Brew Crew.
  23. Chris Sale is pitching Game 162 in a half hour or so to get the Braves into the playoffs. If they lose, they go home.
