  1. I don't want my baseball team to be treated like an investment.
  2. Did we trade for a new owner?
  3. Plenty of poor fielding players have moved to 1b and absolutely sucked. One recent example here was Franchy.
  4. He's a cheap controlled asset which is why you could get a really good pitcher for him!
  5. Duran is not the same as Mookie. When Ellsbury left, it didn't impact the Sox at all.
  6. It wasn't good, but a full season of Story and Casas could change that. The additions of Anthony, Teel, Mayer and Campbell at some point could change that.
  7. Other teams might like that chance enough too to part with a really good pitcher!
  8. Houck? Trading their best starter would be pretty wild.
  9. He's going to do that next year?
  10. Not a fan of MLB Pipeline, but they have 3 Sox players currently ranked in the top 10. Anthony 3, Mayer 7, Campbell 10
  11. I agree. There's high likelihood that this was Duran's 2011 Ellsbury season. It's the one time he puts everything together for an extended period. He may have a good career, but I'm not sure he's going to be an 8 bWAR guy again.
  12. If Devers is the worst "fielding" 3B, why would automatically assume he would even be an adequate 1B?
  13. A save opportunity occurs every time a relief pitcher either records a save or a blown save. For a save opportunity, a pitcher must be the final pitcher for his team (and not the winning pitcher) and do one of the following: Enter the game with a lead of no more than three runs and pitch at least one inning. Enter the game with the tying run in the on-deck circle -- or closer to scoring. Pitch at least three innings. If you allow the game to become tied after the above, you get a blown save. Inning doesn't matter as long as the pitcher before you is in line for a win (i.e. starter can't leave before end of the 5th).
  14. He's not getting DFA'd.
  15. I don't think the protocols changed all that much until very recently. How else can you explain Manti Te'o?
  16. She values Masataka Yoshida even less!
  17. Have you seen what we've thrown over there the past few years?
  18. He was a "real" player back in ye olden days when men were men and Dayton had a professional football team.
  19. When GB won their "first" championship, other teams they played included the Dayton Triangles, the Frankford Yellow Jackets and the Providence Steam Roller. The one tie they had that season was with Frankford and the score was 0-0. Of course no real stats are maintained from that era aside from game score. That season the Packers played 13 games, Frankford played 19, New York played 15 and Dayton played 6. Maybe if they had played the Boston Bulldogs, Staten Island Stapletons or Orange Tornados they would have had a few more losses on that imaginary schedule of theirs...
  20. Devers could be worse at 1B than Casas. Campbell's better defense may not make up for it.
