  1. For a guy who misses A LOT of time historically, it's silly to offer him 20M+ for a year.
  2. It's why they didn't offer it.
  3. Right now, Bello is so far behind Houck that he's not even in the same conversation even if you just go back his second half stats. Houck's 2024 > Bello's second half in ERA+/WHIP/HR9/SOperBB. Let's not anoint Bello as the best anything until he at least appears in an AS Game.
  4. TBF, they underperformed and were supposed to win 48 games if you believe in Pythagoras.
  5. Would be a great get for a guy with declining defense and injury issues that cause him to miss 50+ games every year.
  6. O'Neill signed for 3/49.5. That's more than I would have wanted to spend on an oft injured guy like O'Neill. Teoscar's 3/66 is much more palatable, but the Sox didn't want to go there for whatever reason. It sounds like they are counting on a bounceback year from RHB Story and the addition of RHB Campbell instead of going to the FA marketplace.
  7. The discussion was "why would Bregman rather a confirmed long term 5/6 year deal over a short term 1 year deal." Appreciate the ad hominem out of nowhere though!
  8. I don't think Logan Webb was available. Manaea was relegated to the bullpen for a lot of the time he was with Bailey in SF. Maybe the two don't see eye to eye?
  9. And if he comes here and gets injured or just hits the way he did last season? He'll be out millions upon millions of dollars.
  10. His CS% dipped last season due to arm injuries. We'll see if he can get back to his '23 levels this year. 2023 DRS 4, FRV -3 2024 DRS -14, FRV -10
  11. I mean, who could possibly disagree with this!
  12. Sure, but he needs more than a 15 PA sample to show what he can do in MLB. He had a 782 OPS in AAA last season. Leon had an OPS under 700 throughout most of his MiLB stint including his lead up to to promotion in BOS in 15 and 16.
  13. In the most recent Bregman developments, KPRC 2’s Ari Alexander reported yesterday that Bregman had received at least three offers of five or more years over the course of the offseason, though it isn’t known which teams made those offers or if they’re still on the table. Yup, he ain't coming here if our offer is only 4 years and opt outs.
  14. Trading Casas for Vlad any day now...
  15. Over the last 13 years, there's been a 46% chance they'll end up in last damn place. I don't think they can be embarrassed.
  16. Maybe they also had an idea what the Astros offer was and underbid it? Maybe they value Bregman at a certain dollar threshold and just refuse to go over it? I'd be more concerned about dysfunction if the Sox got into a bidding war after all the news surrounding Breslow not liking Bregman.
  17. I thought it was interested that they hired the Yankees coach and immediately went out and traded for a catcher that the coach worked with. Clearly, that coach much be high on Narvaez and believes he's worth having in the organization.
  18. It seems to me that the Sox aren't in it as much as Bregman wishes they were. I'm sure Cora wants him here, but Breslow is the boss.
  19. From MLB Trade Rumors today: 2. Bregman headed home? Longtime Astros third baseman Alex Bregman was the talk of baseball over the weekend. Late last week, reports began to percolate that the Astros and Bregman had reengaged despite Houston’s acquisitions of Christian Walker and Isaac Paredes to handle the infield corners seemingly signaling a split. The Astros held their annual FanFest over the weekend and, while comments from GM Dana Brown described a Bregman reunion as a “longshot,” franchise face Jose Altuve emphasized the importance of Bregman to the team and made clear he would be willing to move to the outfield if it meant bringing Bregman back into the fold. Will a deal reach the finish line soon, or could another suitor for Bregman like the Tigers or Blue Jays swoop in and get something done instead? Red Sox don't even get a mention anymore!
  20. You couldn't get excited if 1992 Cindy Crawford sat down next to you at the bar. 🤷‍♀️
  21. I read that the Sox wouldn't offer more than 4 years. The Astros have a 5 year offer on the table. Bregman needs to jump on that Astros offer.
  22. Yeah, as time goes on, more and more teams fill there needs and move on from Bregman. At some point, he prices himself out of the market and will have to take a lesser deal. He should have just taken the original Astros deal.
  23. Well, it could be worse, at least our owner isn't out in public pining for a salary cap like billionaire/WEF/Carlyle Group David Rubenstein. O's fans deserve it though.
  24. The medicals are that he has a really bad back. The Sox could have had him for very cheap last year and didn't want him. Why take him now when their rotation is loaded?
  25. Pete Alonso's agent: Scott Boras How much money is Alonso going to leave on the table this offseason because of his dumb agent?
