  1. Interesting thought exercise. 1. Anthony 2. Houck. 3. Campbell. 4. Teel. 5. Duran 6. Casas 7. Abreu 8. Mayer 9. Crawford 10. Slaten
  2. Only 13 pitchers had more innings than Kutter last year. 2 of them had lower fWAR (Berrios, Irvin). Kutter's HR/9 was pretty grim, but it was never this bad before. There's no reason to believe it won't go back to how it was prior to 2024. 35% of his HR's came in a 3 game period right after the ASB. After that, his HR/9 went back to his career norm as it was prior to that.
  3. Both Juan Soto trades seem to have been good for the dealer. Maybe Bloom just did a s*** job?
  4. With Masa, it would be addition by subtraction. He has 2.8 bWAR in 2 seasons. That's 2024 David Hamilton. There's just very little value left there. Eat a lot of his salary in a deal and move on. He's just in the way for players that could be far more productive.
  5. The Sox need a high end starter first and foremost. I don't think moving Kutter fixes the issue as it would just create more of a drain on the bullpen due to all the innings he throws. I'd either sign a FA or trade prospects and an offensive player to get a starter that is as good as Houck or better or has the potential to be.
  6. He played 18 innings at SS and the metrics were bad as they have been since 2020. I wouldn't care if he filled in at 3B. I advocated signing him in the past when he's been unsigned. I don't think there's been many instances of people saying not to sign him on here. He's kind of a fan favorite going back to his prospect days.
  7. Iglesias isn't good SS, but he'd be perfectly fine at a huge hole the Sox have had for years: 2b.
  8. If his HR/9 dipped back to 2023 levels, he'd go from a 5th starter to a 3rd starter again. For a guy that can throw 180 innings at cheap dollars, I don't know if I'm quick to move on from him. I think I'm more confident in what he an do for me than what Bello can (worse '24 ERA+, WHIP than Kutter).
  9. So a three team trade then?
  10. Feel free to ignore this thread then.
  11. One year of Mookie at 20M+ vs multi year Duran. They also could have had pitching but declined. C’mon man.
  12. Cheap guy who had an 8bWAR season vs lottery ticket, who would another team prefer? If they choose a lottery ticket they deserve to get fired.
  13. 2023 Duran was less valuable than 2024 Rafaela or Abreu.
  14. Only other teams are able to deal for top tier pitching not the Sox I guess??? Is that in the new CBA?
  15. No. Players like Duran fall back to Earth all the time. Either decide they want to keep him around long term or deal him. Not sure they’ve made that decision yet.
  16. Duran is fulltime CFer. Rafaela? I'm using him as a super UTIL guy CF/RF/2B/SS. It's not the perfect use for him, but in this situation, it's what we have to work with. I sign Matt Duffy as a cheap FA to start the season at 3B (can also backup 1B RHB). Story starts the year at SS. Mayer, Meidroth and Campbell have to work out at 2B/3B/SS and you see who gets called up first and who slides in where. I'd give Mayer and Campbell reps at 2B and 3B in AAA before calling them up. Campbell 2B and Mayer 3B may make most sense in theory with Meidroth on the bench? IDK.
  17. Same sprint speed as Jurickson Profar, Lourdes Gurriel, Alex Verdugo.
  18. Spotrac has O'Neill at 5/90. That's crazy... There's no way I give him that. I wouldn't give him 18AAV for 3 years let alone 5.
  19. It's market inefficiency circa 2002! Henry still loves it.
  20. I think Casas should stay at 1B. I think they need a replacement at 3B. I don't think Devers should be a DH. I think he should go to LF.
  21. I don't think the MIF is a huge bottleneck concern considering all of the injury issues that group has.
