    I think they waive 2 or 3 SAL hitters (Fernandez/Sirvania/Barry). Waive a few FCL guys (Marin, Baker). Waive a few GRE guys (Zanetello, Anderson). They also make some moves with the WOO roster to help move guys further up the chain (Lloyd, Hickey). I think they also deal one of Brannon or Johanfran as they are basically the same guy and Rule 5 eligible. Other potential Rule 5 deals: Ingrassia, Wehunt, Romero, Mullins.

    The biggest point was him being initially developed as a catcher and it slowing his development time. He's been able to hit in AA and AAA the past 3 seasons. Maybe he can be an average to slightly below average bat with a UTIL skillset. If he's a 95 wRC+ guy that can play every IF position and mess around in the OF, that's basically Brock Holt.

    KC has been really bad ever since he got sick this year. He had a brief stretch where he looked decent early this season, but it hasn't really taken off the way anyone has wanted to see it. Overall, his numbers and expected stats are even down from last season. If a GM is seeing something else, I want to know what they are looking at.

    Can't keep moving everyone to 2b though! Need to acquire someone that can stick at SS. Do they just wait for Arias to be the SS in '27? He won't be an above average bat, but he'll be a good glove guy. C is a need. Big bopper DH is a need. I think you can punt on C until the offseason TBH.

    They don't even pick up the phone? Is that because he has the gift of foresight and knows what Breslow is already going to offer? I mean, they worked out a Devers trade last year. If he really wants to deal salary, I think he'd at least pick up the phone.

    Adames isn't "bad" now, but like you said there's a lot more time left on that contract. Maybe he plays better in Fenway? His defense slipping is not ideal though. You'd need him to still be strong in the field for most of the contract for it to be worth it.

    For anyone that is interested, the new podcast is out and @Alex Mayes mentions that the Sox were valuing Jarren Duran as a 7 WAR player last offseason when trying to deal him. 😬

    From the recent reports that have been done, the Sox are on the far end of the spectrum along with the Cubs. The Dodgers still have a ton of scouts and use analytics as well.

    That's what ST is for. If you know Devers will eventually play 1B, just throw him over there. Even if he doesn't get in there in the regular season in '25, he would have at least fielded some grounders or whatever. Just having him not practice any fielding was so boneheaded. The idea that the Sox should have been ok to have him just DH until Casas got injured and then throw him to 1B with no prior fieldwork makes no sense to me. If he's being taken off of 3b, keep him fielding elsewhere at least parttime.

    They should have asked him in ST. Seems like getting in the reps then would have prevented a bunch of problems.

    He shouldn't be an everyday player. He's MAYBE a good bench player. Peak Seigler is him playing like Brock Holt. Maybe he becomes that? More likely he's just a AAAA guy who bounces around and can play everywhere and is fun to watch (ambidextrous, play all over the field, good energy). I'm enjoying the Seigler experience while it lasts. We've had some bad UTIL guys here. We've had several streaky ones that have gone on short hot streaks and then faded, but held onto their positions for way too long (i.e. Pablo Reyes).

    No, we want to take this BAD defensive 3b (worst in the league I was told) and he MUST play 1B! That's what is best for the team!

    Well, the first 6 years were wasted on trying to develop him as a catcher. Now his a UTIL guy, which makes much more sense for his profile. Since he's switched to being a UTIL guy: '24: 122 wRC+ AA '25: 143 wRC+ AAA '26: 126 wRC+ AAA, 106 wRC+ MLB It takes a long time to develop catchers due to the additional defensive workload and preparation. If he was moved off C years before, he would have probably made it to the show prior to last season.
