  1. O'Neill '24 2.5 fWAR Renfroe '21 2.6 fWAR They can always find these guys IF THEY WANT TO.
  2. He could be replaced, but I wouldn't have brought him back. His contract isn't worth it IMO. There were other similar bats for cheaper. Sox didn't grab them though.
  3. Probably needs to do a lot of rehab considering his shoulder injury.
  4. It's great news for the Sox if he Grissom can turn into a 4th OFer.
  5. One year for a QO guy? Pass.
  6. Send Grissom to LF.
  7. https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/agents The only agencies close to Boras are Wasserman and CAA IMO. Boras' name seems to come up more than others, but I'm not running a spreadsheet on this one.
  8. The most people will say it's the best.
  9. Well, Pythagoras had them as big time underperformers last season and they've signed more FA MLB players this offseason than the Red Sox. I think they can limp to 60 wins.
  10. Paul DeJong RHB Good Defender Experience at 3B
  11. AL East NYY 87 wins BOS 84 wins BAL 83 wins TB 83 wins TOR 82 wins
  12. Octopussy is far superior to Casablanca because it's in color and features James Bond in a crocodile submersible. "Of all the croc joints in all the towns in the world, she swims into mine." "I'm shocked, shocked to find that gatoring is going on in here." "Bellow it, Sam." "We'll always have the Nile."
  13. We made it...
  14. When you don't spend, it's all you got.
  15. I kind of agree that it's hard to pin down what this team will be. At best, this starting rotation could be dominant and the Sox offense is just good enough (Devers, Casas, Duran, Campbell, Anthony) to slide them towards 90 wins and an easy playoff birth. At worst, injuries and bad defense hampers the pitching while the offense suffers through a mediocre year as the Sox fall below .500 again.
  16. It's more about the "vibes" of him being the big dog rather than him actually being the big dog.

  18. The hitters that were drafted really didn't show much at all. Every guy had an OPS under 500! Neely, Clarke, Aita and Tygart got decent signing bonuses. If I had to hitch my cart to two of those 4 horses it would be Neely (closer) and Tygart (bulk innings guy like Crawford). We've already heard a lot about Cason and Tolle so not much of a need to mention those two.
  19. Boras isn't in a hurry because all he cares about is the total dollars involved. He'll drag this on until players start reporting.
  20. We would have found something else to talk about if we had to. Trading Casas or Abreu still has a lot of mileage left.
  21. Well, we don't want to trade for Arrenado's contract and we don't want to have to bid against other teams for Bregman or give him a long contract (the better player). What to do? What to do?
  22. 5th rounder last year. Only one or two of them even went to affiliated teams last season so most of them haven't been scouted outside of the org. Will know more about the 2024 draftees after this Spring. This is what SP says: Fastball: 93-97 mph. Tops out at 99 mph. Command and control are a work in progress.
  23. CC peaked once he got to MIL and was away from the threat of facing BOS. Should have stayed in the NL.
