  1. Keep on intertwining yourself with online gambling, MLB. It's going great!!!
  2. I'm not sure I'd want to see Grissom either. I would just rather see Campbell at 2b than Grissom based on DEFENSE and then have the leftovers figure out 3b. Romy vs LHP and Grissom vs RHP since Romy has a huge platoon split and Grissom doesn't.
  3. What does that have to do with "Cora makes out lineup cards based on pitching matchups, not based on defensive capabilities?"
  4. I think Sam is insinuating that if the Sox really wanted him, that he'd be signed by now.
  5. Grissom is a bad 2b. He's probably a better fit at 3b. With Raffy going down, I'd rather move Grissom to 3b and play Campbell at 2b where Campbell has played since college
  6. viii Sox will have two of the Opening Day rotation starters miss 10 games or more. ix Sox are on the outside looking in at the deadline and make zero improvements to help the team x Three relievers have 7 saves or more and the closer role is never really settled xi Connor Wong's defense stays at the bad 2024 level xii Mayer has another season marred with injury xiii Fitts, Priester, Dobbins and Sandlin don't make significant improvements to become future rotation pieces
  7. "I honestly think that the two pillars that winning teams have is pitching and defense," Cora told NESN's Tom Caron on Friday. Now THAT is a direct quote. Cora decided by the end of the year that defense was more important than pitching matchups apparently.
  8. # 5 is the most unrealistic based on where ERA stands these days and Buehler's injury history. Wacha had a 3.35 ERA last season and was 10th in the AL.
  9. It would be Vaughn Grissom IMO. ZiPS has him at about a 2 WAR pace if Devers is out for the year. That's an overestimate IMO.
  10. Everyone that thinks bad weather reduces offense needs to explain this then: https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/BOS/BOS202303300.shtml 🤯
  11. He's said that specifically? You have a quote ready to go?
  12. Laureano would be a good signing because you could DFA him midseason and nobody would notice.
  13. For SS specifically? Rafaela (2024) Kiké (2023) Eduardo Nunez Holt Iglesias Punto
  14. 1 Maybe a ball hitting the ladder? That would be fun. 2 Don't see it. 3 Sure, but he hits it on the road. 4 He's had more ejections since the team has been worse, so maybe. 5 Sure 6 '24 was Devers' second highest wRC+. I'm not sure he needs a bounceback season, but I could see him doing better than that. 7 Sure Mine: i Trevor Story 4 WAR ii Campbell starts on Opening Day iii Crochet extension in ST iv Crochet wins CY v Casas plays a career high G vi Masataka Yoshida 800 OPS, 130 wRC+ vii Narvaez holds his own and gets 50/50 starts in the 2nd half
  15. Halladay and Sabathia aren't HOF worthy? I only mentioned guys that I thought were HOF guys in my argument.
  16. Well, the plan was to use JBJ out there fulltime, but he had a 000 OPS in April. If he really didn't care about RF defense, he could have put JD out there!
  17. Also, happy Birthday to Fred Lynn. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/l/lynnfr01.shtml
  18. Crawford HR's by month '24: Apr: 0 May: 5 June: 8 July: 9 Aug: 6 Sept: 6 Even his May numbers were buoyed by his great April. He should go back to not throwing the HR pitch.
  19. Friendship ended with interest. Now truck day is my best friend.
  20. He has 65.6 bWAR (more than Halladay, Feller, Marichal, Sabathia). He really didn't have an injury shortened career as he pitched until his 40's. I know he's a lower tiered candidate, but he's deserving (as are Kevin Brown and Rick Reuschel). Sabathia was a slam dunk this year. Tiant would be if he just retired too.
  21. You have a habit of always running mine down and saying "well that's what YOU'D do, not the Red Sox."
  22. 6 starts in RF in Fenway, 14 away from Fenway. 4 of the RF Fenway starts where in mid June when Abreu was on the IL.
