  1. Mills was the typical Sox sign: The Red Sox have signed right-hander Wyatt Mills to a minor league contract covering both the 2024 and 2025 seasons, MassLive.com’s Chris Cotillo reports. The length of the deal reflects Mills’ health situation, as he underwent Tommy John surgery last July and may not pitch at all during the 2024 season.
  2. Jared Carrabis made a point that I wholeheartedly agree with. Breslow is very smart and is putting this team on a great direction and we need to trust it. However, he needs to have someone else do all the communicating for him. Some experienced GM can come in and deal with other teams and the media as the second in command. Breslow struggled in the interview process communicating. Breslow struggled with his communications with Devers. Breslow struggles communicating with other front offices at the deadline (reports are that other teams don't want to deal with the Sox again and don't think highly of Breslow). Breslow has struggled communicating to the fans via the media. Just take that part of his job away from him!
  3. Unless he's going to go well below market, Sox may wait a while on Mayer.
  4. Bregman, sure. Giolito, maybe. I think he's going to want to go to FA. Chapman, no. Maybe like a one year extension for Chapman. The one player we've never heard about being extended is Abreu. Makes it easier for him to be traded if he's year to year. Marcelo's injury concerns make me hesitant to give him one. How soon do they look into an extension for Tolle? This offseason?
  5. Per BTV, Roman Anthony is now worth -10M and his contract is under water. Henry may need to trade his contract at some point. 🤪
  6. Breslow gets a trade deadline pass from me now.
  7. Defensive Runs Saved Outs Above Average
  8. Just because the team isn't struggling now, doesn't mean that they aren't going to need help down the stretch.
  9. Before the Rule 5 deadline at the latest. Today at the soonest.
  10. KC is the 27th ranked team in wRC+. Good matchup for his first start for BOS. May has struggled with the HR's and BB's and KC is 28th in HR total and 30th in BB%.
  11. -3 DRS, -5 OAA at SS in '22 in 40 games. He wasn't a good SS.
  12. Sandlin is being primed for a relief role right now.
  13. That is one of the complaints about OB and NESN is that they talk about nonsense and fill the air with meaningless banter. Last night, they just talked ball. Were they Vin Scully? No. But nobody is Vin Scully. Not one broadcaster calling games right now comes close to Vin Scully so I don't think that should be the comparison. Some people didn't like the "tone" of their voices. Joe Castiglione sounded like a friggin' stork being strangled for the past 30 years and I didn't here any complaints about how his voice sounded.
  14. I don't know whether to be skeptical of Romy's '25 success or just see it as a mirror of Refsnyder's late blooming. Romy has always been a bat first guy and the Sox have found a way to put him in the best position to succeed. He's never really pulled the ball in the air, but if he can provide value without doing so, I don't think it's cause for concern. I'm not sure every hitter the Sox acquire should be forced into a cookie cutter launch angle pull air guy.
  15. He was fine until he wasn't. 🫠
  16. They said the exact same things that OB would have said. These boomers and boomer adjacents just don't like hearing women speak. Then they started to even complain about the DC football team of course! Can't wait to be lectured about groupthink though!
