  2. No.
  3. Insider Declares Fansided Story to be a Non-story
  4. Sox have had some good mojo injuries in the past: putting on cowboy boots, taking out the trash, napping.
  5. Hendriks still believes he's a highly valuable bullpen arm. With his FB velo down 2 mph, his value has shifted dramatically. He's now more of a low leverage fungible guy that teams would run through and DFA as needed.
  6. The Sox decided not to go for it this year when they didn't trade for Dom Smith immediately once Casas went down.
  7. You've been posting with me for 9 years... C'mon man... Get your head in the game!
  8. What did it look like the year they tried it without Cora in 2020? Per 162, it would have been a 65 win team.
  9. Ah, it's "mojo" that's causing all these arm injuries across the league. Got it.
  10. IDK, they apparently thought highly of Hamilton and wouldn't part with him in trades over the winter? Looks bad in retrospect.
  11. Mayer and Anthony were highly touted early on. Campbell kind of came out of nowhere and the Sox are taking A LOT of credit for him, rather than saying "wow, look at where all this hard work got Kristian."
  12. More likely to be traded than called up.
  13. Average 1B has a 760 OPS. That was his OPS two weeks ago. He can get back there.
  14. Yeah, Campbell had a pretty bad Spring, but the goal all along was to get him on the roster the second he showed signs of life. Is it because he's the prospect they could point to as "he's OUR developmental success story"?
  15. I agree on both points. The transition in Spring Training should have been "hey, we'll need you to be a DH/1B guy so let's just get you a 1B mitt that you can practice with and you won't have to worry about playing there fulltime immediately." What's the harm? "We want to play you there 25 games a year, but might need you for more if there's an injury."
  16. We at least need to see what Kristian looks like at 1B before we can say he's better at 2B or OF. Maybe he really is a good fit for 1B?
  17. Duran is too much of a diva to move positions.
  18. Much easier to convert Raffy to 1B than Roman since Raffy has played on the dirt more recently than Little League. Either of those options aren't going to happen though. Roman LF Raffy DH
  19. I'm going to be honest and say that I think your expectations out of a high draft pick are a little inflated. MLB Career: Mayer 20 PA, 5 H, 2 2B, 1 BB, 4 K Lawlar: 56 PA, 4 H, 3 BB, 9 K It'll be interesting to compare these two over the next few years as Lawlar was targeted by the Sox prior Mayer falling in the draft. Mayer missed portions of the previous few years to injury and Lawlar missed almost all of last season. Developmentally, they are about on the same track at the moment.
  20. He seems like a good dad and people around the game like him.
  21. I think it's a stretch to complain that he sat Sale in 2018 to give him rest and then also complain that Cora injured him the following season. It was clear to most people that were watching at the time that Sale wasn't completely healthy at the end of 2018 (Sept was his highest ERA and OPS, he did not exactly pitch like vintage Sale in the playoffs).
  22. If that's the case, we won't be seeing him for another 3-4 weeks while he's learning the position. 🤔
  23. So? It would have meant that he would have played in over 150 games. Great!!! There are 8 guys in MLB with more 3b errors than him. Out of 18 qualified 3b, he's 9th/10th most. He's had an average number of errors. I'll take that over what I've seen the previous several years.
