If he hadn't moved to 2b, his offensive numbers probably still would've tanked. It just made his OF splits look a lot better. 🫠 Our numbers are almost the same. I just nudged Rafaela up and Abreu and Duran down for different reasons. If Duran hadn't had his monster '24 season, may grade might be higher. IDK.

The catching depth is pitiful. Johanfran Garcia was once promising, but is coming back from injury and there is worry that he won't stick behind the plate. Brooks Brannon played almost as many 1B/DH games as catcher last season. The other two top 60 prospects are Jorge Rodriguez (athletic FCL catcher) and Franklin Primera (DSL ASG MVP). None of these guys are close to helping. Years and years away most likely, even Johanfran.

As an OFer, Rafaela had 4.6 fWAR (109 wRC+) and Duran had 3.9 fWAR (111 wRC+) so it'd really be hard for me to give them the same grade. Anthony A- Rafaela B+ Duran B- Abreu B- (could be higher, but lost time) Refsnyder B- Overall, this group was 2nd in MLB in fWAR. Hard to nitpick too much. Only negative fWAR guy was Masa's 6 G sample.

Wong was very lucky with the bat in '24 and unlucky in '25. He should go back to being a playable backup catcher next season as long as his defense looks like it did in '25.

Somebody won't be ready for Opening Day and Early will be the 5th starter.

Godbout: 97-00 Nomar is the ceiling (SoxProspects should really go back to having prospect comps again, they were always delightfully unhinged). Seems like he was leading Arias down a Meidroth path but with better fielding TBH. I do agree that he's not a top 25 guy.

1.74 ERA in 4 starts. He got a longer leash in '25 and it wasn't surprising to see the ERA go way up. Just don't bring up my boy Early and his 2.33 ERA in 4 starts. His secondaries are more developed than Fitts. He shouldn't have a sub 3 in a full season unless his velo really spikes.

He's thrown less than 10 regular season innings above A ball. Who knows what he'll look like in the spring.

Yeah, TO = O'Neill. He's just not a good fit for BAL. I think he was decent in BOS where his pull AIR worked out well. Would he come back? Does Brezzz want him back? IDK. Yeah, he's just a bench RHB.

They also don't award the additional option until after the season, so Sox will need to be aggressive with him during the year just in case it's not awarded I think.

There were two outs and zero chance Jazz is going home with the ball, why not be aggressive and send your fastest runner home against Jazz who has a propensity for bad defense?

I was just going through the FanGraphs tracker because there are just too many guys to remember at the start of the offseason. I think Hoskins would be a better fit than Alonso because of the price point. Would Sox be converting Bellinger to 1b? He's a very good fielder so it'd be a waste. He's also a LH dead pull hitter so not a great fit for Fenway. I'd have him below Schwarber for sure, maybe right above Ozuna. Murakami is apparently a big k% guy and needs to be 1b only. I'd have him below Ozuna just because of the bust potential.

You said "he had almost another second to make up his mind." He's going to take a full second to make up his mind and then throw home while Eaton is already in full sprint, the catcher has to get the ball AND tag Eaton? Seems like a more difficult play that you are making it out to be.

His injury is VERY serious IMO. I don't see him starting in MLB. It could take him a long time to get back. There's a chance he's never back to normal. I know we were told by Casas's camp that he's progressing and will be ready for Opening Day, but I'm taking it with a huge grain of salt. He generates a ton of power from his lower half and that injury may dramatically alter that. There's a history of guys with that injury having shortened careers and ultimately retiring because of that one injury.

Hoskins and Bellinger aren't FA's yet. Murakami hasn't been posted and I'd have no idea how to rank him.

Perales career MiLB: 47 G, 163.1 IP If this is his last option year, that's not a lot of experience to go on. Yes, that even includes his DSL IP.

The issue is that he currently has only one option year left. There's a chance he earns a 4th option year due to time missed, which would give him more time to develop into a starter. If next season is really his final option year, it's the last chance to develop him outside of the MLB clubhouse. If he's not really looking starter ready around ASB, they may need to make a decision about putting him in the pen.

If I had to rank the options: Alonso - but he's going to be prohibitively expensive Suarez - only if they can move him to 1b or if they don't re-sign Breggie Schwarber - he's not leaving Philly though TO - could be a cheap DH option Naylor - don't like his fit at Fenway TBH Ozuna - down year, overall decline? Gary Sanchez - wild card add by me, if made into a DH at Fenway he'd hit 30 bombs Muncy - don't think it'd work here Tucker - like the player, but too much money and the Sox are set in the OF O'Hearn/Yaz/Bichette - N/A, don't have the power profile needed
