  1. Whatever it takes to get Anthony here, I'm fine with TBH.
  2. 1300 OPS the last 7 games thanks to good ole' Pat Fatse!
  3. I'd want my backup Catcher to either be a masher or be a plus defender. Wong is neither.
  4. Cora has said there's a chance they could send Rafaela to 3b.
  5. Ok, I have your answer "about 10." I wasn't initially looking to beat you up over this. I was just looking for your answer about Bloom's ranking. I wasn't taking a side about who is deserving of praise for the ranking.
  6. Don't beat up iortiz for his word choice please. He learned a lot of his English from posting with us. Any finger pointing you do, there's a few more right back at you.
  7. Which one costs less? Duran? IDK. I'd peg that at about equal value. I think it depends on the needs of the other team. If a playoff team needs a leadoff guy, they could shell out for Duran.
  8. Oh, are we hoping they are going to make the right move here because they certainly won't. The right move if they want to still show Red Sox Nation that they want to compete this year would be Story to 2B, Rafaela to SS, Anthony to LF, Duran to CF and Campbell to WOO (temporarily) if they aren't going to make any trades. I'd just trade Duran though.
  9. Yeah, that's the best defensive lineup at Fenway if you're throwing them all out there. Maybe at other stadiums you can swap Rafaela and Duran?
  10. Again, I'm asking about under Bloom, which is what you are saying when you say: Kinda-sorta, but not a top 3-5 farm like the Sox reached under Bloom-Breslow.
  11. In 300 G, he has 1.5 fWAR/3.8 bWAR. I'm not worried about trying to get him back on track. He hasn't been consistent offensively or defensively since reaching more advanced pitching in AAA.
  12. Yeah, way to go you friggin' idiot. Don't come back until you know the exact date.
  13. Wilyer is younger, a better hitter, a better fielder and has more years of control. Aside from Duran's speed, I don't know what else teams would prefer about him.
  14. His k rate has gone up a little, but his walk rate dropped dramatically. His other issue is everything he now hits is being pounded into the dirt. Can MLB coaching fix it?
  15. They believe he can turn it around. They also don't have someone that can come up and be better than him. It also is admitting that they chose the wrong guy to bring up on day 1.
  16. If he's demoted, they are just swapping him with Sogard. Romy/Hamilton platoon at 2b would be my guess.
  17. I'd prefer NOT to trade Abreu. I don't know who would play RF if they moved him. Anthony is mainly a LFer in WOO. I also believe his skills will age better than Duran's.
  18. I believe our current ranking has a lot to do with Bloom. I was just asking you the question because you stated it was a top 3-5 ranked system under Bloom and Breslow. I figured you knew the rankings? 😑 SHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESH....
  19. Are we going to move on from the dumb "well he's just the 9th hitter" argument though? That shields him from criticism from when he stinks. When he's going well, it's easy to say that his offense is enough to be worthy of CF. The defensive parts of WAR don't prorate the way offensive WAR does. For example, the highest DRS last year was 22. Rafaela won't go much higher than that and probably not even reach 20 TBH. He won't end up with 30 DRS. It's just not really accurate to say "he's projecting to be at X WAR at year end." It's not entirely how it works IMO. The reason we talk about benching Rafaela is because we want Anthony on the roster. The ways to do that are: Rafaela Super UTIL, Rafaela/Duran platoon or trade somebody. The Super UTIL idea potentially works because of how awful the MIF has been this year. If you are strong in the OF and weak in the IF, but have an OFer than can play IF, moving him to the IF isn't the dumbest idea. The platoon works because both guys can play CF and have splits. People want Anthony up BECAUSE THIS TEAM HAS UNDERACHIEVED with the roster it currently has. If they keep running the same guys out there, it's not going to get much better.
