  1. If they aren't trading Arias, fine. DFA Story in the offseason. Trade Masa and eat 50% of salary. Trade Duran for prospects. C Narvaez 1B Contreras 2B Abrams SS Arias 3B Durbin RF Abreu CF Rafaela LF Anthony DH Mead Bench Monasterio, Seigler, Wong, OF 4 Acquisition
  2. Noted Red Sox hater was well above the curve on his love for Arias for a while.
  3. 4/1 - 6/24/24 103 IP, 2.18 ERA, 2.22 FIP, 2 HR, 101 K, 18 BB Previous career high in innings was 106. 6/25 - 9/23/24 75 IP, 4.42 ERA, 4.83 FIP, 9 HR, 53 K, 30 BB
  4. I think they could certainly upgrade Romy/Jones and do it cheaply. I think whatever it takes to acquire Abrams and Neto is probably too much. I wouldn't deal Arias for either. They already acquired Mead for next season, so if you get Abrams or Neto, what's the lineup? Moving Mead to DH? Moving Mead to LF?
  5. He only has one year left of control. I'm fine with leaving him in the pen. He looked good there previously.
  6. I just don't know what else they'll do with Story TBH. I don't think they'll move him to 2b midseason. I don't think they'll be able to trade him at the deadline. I really doubt they'll DFA before the end of the year. All three of those options are viable this offseason IMO.
  7. Only 13 of Garcia's 23 HR would have been out at Fenway.
  8. I don't understand trading for a SS that profiles better as a 2b.
  9. I don't care. The names that have been thrown out in trade talks haven't been worth it to me. I'd rather keep Arias in house. No matter what, they have Story coming back and aren't going to make any moves to keep him off the roster. Story becomes a DH? Then Roman comes back at some point? Eventually, all the glue guys that kept this train going are going to be left off the roster and the chemistry will be gone. I'm tempted to just not mess with a good thing right now. The trade deadline prices are just too exorbitant. Just construct a complete roster in the offseason.
  10. Sure, he’s hot for this stretch. Mookie was great for years.
  11. Me too. I just think the Sox don’t move him midseason.
  12. Get Arias reps at 2b now so that he could play there when Story is at SS in a few weeks.
  13. I did say Dodger Stadium was a HR friendly park at the start of the series FWIW.
  14. It depends on who he's replacing. If he's replacing Wong, it's probably a lateral move.
  15. Most MLB players have their own personal hitting coaches. I don't think that's a knock on the Sox. Duran has tweaked his swing over and over again ever since he got to the org. He's never stuck with a swing even when he's found success. We don't know if he's listening to coaches or just doing his own thing. All we know is that he's in a huge funk.
  16. I agree. I'd have him platoon with Seigler. Put Cheng at SS. Romy to AAA.
  17. Jarren Duran gets put under anesthesia for his larger tattoos. Stolen valor! DFA
  18. Price will be too high for a guy that is always injured.
  19. The team had a terrible record prior to July when Duran was starting. They are winning in spite of him. Since 7/3: 2531 OPS.
  20. Even if they get swept, it's 20-7 since July 1. Crazy. Their best chance to win is either tonight or Sunday.
  21. I think if they got swept, somebody would say "they need to sell." A 4-3 road trip is a great outcome IMO.
  22. You don't think Jahmai will keep up his 1400+ OPS with the Sox?
