  1. They'd release him and he could go anywhere (still make BOS pay for him) OR he could accept an assignment to AAA, which would be wild.
  2. From last season: Often, MLB players with certain types of contracts (especially international signings or veterans) can negotiate clauses that prevent teams from demoting them to the minor leagues without their approval. In Yoshida’s case, the Red Sox can’t officially option him to the minors after his 20-day rehab stint unless he agrees to it.
  3. Aside from LOB% and ERA, his numbers were really good across the board. He's still got closer stuff.
  4. It's not Planck's Constant anymore?
  5. Not to be pedantic, but the budget may not allow for them to sign all those guys, but the cash flow most certainly does. 💰🐉💰
  6. I don't think losing Bleis and Cespedes stings at all. My guess is he'd have to be packaged with a Paez/Sandoval/Romero type.
  7. Stop trying to make Zac Gallen happen.
  8. He was worth that much at the deadline. He may not be worth that much in the offseason.
  9. He'll burn through those challenges in the first two at bats and get the rest of the team pissed at him.
  10. Sox will be interest kings on 20-25 players this offseason. Williams is just another guy on the list. If they acquired him along with the #2, the middle of the order bat and a 3b, it would be quite the feat. Seems unlikely Brezzz could get all of that done.
  11. Is Campbell going to be the "upgrade" for Jarren Duran? Seems like they are taking him completely out of the IF rotation and putting him in the OF going forward.
  12. Just go the Halladay route. Why complicate it further? DET knows the number. They can tell the number to BOS. BOS can be given a few days to negotiate or call off the trade.
  13. That would really go up the DET fans sideways.
  14. "That's part of any trade." "It's also not done much any more." 🤔
  15. Names prior to Jeffries: Mike Marshall, Ron Kittle, Dwight Gooden, Mike Beilecki, Jose Canseco. Just saying that Campbell may have a pedigree that we shouldn't give up on just yet.
  16. For the most part, MiLB PotY guys end up having very good careers.
  17. Sox could also try to work out a negotiating window prior to finalizing the deal like the Roy Halladay to Phillies trade. https://www.mlb.com/news/how-the-phillies-traded-for-roy-halladay
  18. And for the most part, it's ignored if done prior to an agreed upon trade.
  19. Then why didn't they re-sign him in '23 instead?
