    Bregman has said he wants this to be his last contract. I'm not sure if he wants opt outs built in.

    Ok, if we're projecting -0.5 per year, when does the decline happen? He declined 0.7 from 24 to 25. Maybe the 26 projection is overstated and he's already in the decline? My daughter threw a chair when Devers was traded so... 🫠 I think Bregman wants more than 5/125 as that's less than the Alonso contract. I think he doesn't care about the break even point and is holding out for something stronger. Again, we don't really know what the "aggressive" offer is that the Sox made.

    Those weak teams were sold to the fanbase as "competing for the playoffs" each season. If they overspent and underperformed, it's on the FO.

    The Sox have already stated that the market for Bo was too high for where they wanted to go after they met with him. I think they are all in on Bregman and don't have a backup plan.

    Marte is cheaper, but you have to deal off players to get him. Is it worth the cost savings to do that? IDK.

    People already call them cheap. What will change? How does it affect JH? He doesn't directly interact with the fanbase anymore. So is signing Breggie just a PR move? If so, isn't that everything that some have been worried about.

    Who are the others? I can't think of any at the moment. They are holding out because the offer isn't going to be taken off the table. He didn't sign until middle of February last year. He may wait that long this year too.
