  1. If Mead doesn't get hurt? IDK. Can't fault Brez for that.
  2. Most evaluators are swapping Azocar and Witherspoon with their most recent rankings. Azocar is rising and Witherspoon is falling. There are some concerns with his hit tool, but he has a few years to work on it. The rest of his game can carry him to MLB.
  3. A if they didn't overpay for Adley (kinda the cost of doing business at the deadline sometimes). The overpay knocks it down to a B IMO. The other trades were fine IMO.
  4. With all the injuries, that potential has been zapped.
  5. Saying Miller hasn't been legit is a weird take TBH. There are things to work on, but he's been really good. If he cuts down on the bb's, he's an 8th inning guy.
  6. La Sorsa was released. This paves the way for Casas to return to the roster. 😎
  7. Passan doesn't believe they'll lose a whole season though. He has said they'll get it wrapped up early on and may only miss a few games.
  8. You'd get rid of Cheng or Rivera over Tristan Casas? Eduardo Rivera is probably a top 20 prospect in the system. He can actually pitch for the team and has upside. You were crowing all season long about how they had to call up Cheng and how great he was. Do you really you only believe you need 2 MIFers? Eaton is and OFer. Mead is probably a DH next year. How many DH's do you need? Masa, Jones, Mead, Casas... Casas will never play 1b for the Boston Red Sox again. Not one inning.
  9. He has speed, can play OF and is healthy. Casas has nothing at the moment. He has ZERO tools left. Eaton is only getting cut because he has no options remaining.
  10. I like him. He's just out of options at the end of the season so he's an early cut IMO. They just don't seem interested in keeping him on the active roster. If he had another option, I'd keep him 100%.
  11. The lows were low. The highs are high. I like the group where it is right now. Once future moves are made? I'm not so sure!
  12. He can't stay healthy. It's simple fact at this point. Give me someone who can at least play MLB.
  13. The following guys have to be put back on the 40 man: Crochet, Anthony, Oviedo, Crawford, Houck, Kelly, Casas Expiring contracts: Gray, Sandoval, IKF, Rogers That means 3 players need to go on day one! La Sorsa, Gamboa, Harris However, if they need to sign anyone else, they'll need to make further moves. Frankly, I'd rather have a player on my 40 man that is healthy than an unhealthy LH platoon DH. We already have Masa and Anthony. What's Casas's spot on the BOS roster as a diminished player? Aside from Eaton and Jones, I'd rather keep every other player that's on the 40 man than Casas.
  14. Us cool accountants never miss a thing.
  15. If you could IL someone in the offseason, I'd hold onto him. Since you can't, it just limits roster flexibility too much IMO.
  16. You hoped they signed someone better than a potential #1? Huh?
  17. They already had a positive pythag on 6/26 when they were still 12 games under.
  18. I know there are reasons not to play him. There are also important reasons to play him. Also, these guys won't be sitting at home in the offseason. They are all going to be working out together. He just won't see any in game action, the same as everyone else in MLB. It's not like it was 75 years ago when dudes needed offseason jobs and used Spring Training to get back into shape. These guys are ready to go by the time the show up in FL/AZ.
