  1. Bello back at it tonight. Lehigh is a pretty inept hitting team (2nd to last in OPS) so it should be easy work for him.
  2. It rots from the head down. Henry has built this in his image.
  3. I'm still jonesing for the next Rule 5 draft, so don't ask for my input!
  4. The best players can get more from being drafted and the NIL's are often used towards college tuition since college baseball rosters average less than 12 scholarships per team. It's not the windfall you are making it out to be right now. Maybe it changes at some point. There are some outliers, but for the most part, players are going to get more by going pro.
  5. I think he'll be very good for 2027. If the Sox think they are going to be competitive, they should keep him. If they are going to punt or receive an offer than barrels them over, they should trade him.
  6. It was to make the draft more exciting and less about tanking.
  7. Yes, guys like him with that much control aren't typically moved at the deadline. Contenders would certainly be interested, but even sellers don't usually give them up because of the control.
  8. The worry is that you are trading a guy with 95th percentile bat speed and on pace for 30+ HRs while the team is already last in runs. Get rid of that guy and you're guaranteeing that this franchise has turned back the clock 100 years.
  9. Moneyball, but Brad Pitt is consulting BTV instead of Jonah Hill.
  10. If the team is dumping a bunch of veterans, giving tryouts to guys with upcoming 40 man issues (what we gave up for Garcia) seems like a fine idea for me. Need warm bodies to fill out a roster anyway.
  11. Bennett at 13 seems really low? He's already starting in MLB and having succes! Some of the guys you have above him likely may never get there.
  12. 27 HRs in 2017, but his Statcast looked like a Smurf parade.
  13. I'm pretty sure that nothing in this franchise before '67 counts. The 2020 season isn't a full year. This could be the worst team of all time.
  14. The problem is that he's not a HR hitter and he's not in a ballpark that works for him. If he was in CIN, he could probably hit 25 HR year in and year out.
  15. Now you're just trying to get everyone even more depressed.
  16. Well, the Pythagorus Sox did it again. Got swept, but came back in the last game to get the score close. Great job!
