  1. The middle ground to me is go over the CBT for 2 years and reset the 3rd.
  2. Seems like LAD has been sustainable to me.
  3. The fans push this team to 3rd in MLB in revenue each year with their own investment. Why continue to hold the payroll line artificially low just because?
  4. TOR and LAD both spent boatloads on their team this season. Seems to have worked out. The Rays model is below .500 the past two seasons and just found a new owner which will cause a bunch of FO guys to leave this offseason. Sinking ship.
  5. He has the range to play it, but not the arm.
  6. Willi Castro's SS defense doesn't seem all that hot lately. He was my first thought.
  7. Hamilton is 2b only and really hard to keep him AND Romy as UTIL guys if neither can play SS. The upper minors are rough and Arias is a few years away. IKF signing as backup UTIL? Possible trade for a backup instead? Go the Arauz route via Rule 5?
  8. I agree that Bregman for 5 years is too long. With Arenado, the hope is that the Pull AIR % leads to a mild resurgence. The only problem with the "he's ok as a bottom order bat" is that the Sox already have Rafaela and potentially Wong. Having those 3 at the end of a lineup would be a real quick inning. Do you think the Sox would actually move Story off SS? They should, but it seems unlikely to me that they will move the veteran over TBH. Story's defense took a big turn for the worse this year and could play up at 2b.
  9. I still expect him in the pen due to his overall lack of experience and 40 man timeline.
  10. Feel free to express whatever trade ideas you like. Just expect @notin to come at you with BTV backup and @moonslav59 with an alternate proposal that includes a potpourri of prospects. Our nonsense is a little more chill than over there. Welcome!
  11. "Didn't re-sign Bregman. Decided that he was causing too much commotion behind the scenes on the ipads. Was playing Minecraft and watching Youtube shorts while in the dugout. Actually, he doesn't even like Boston. Thinks pink clam chowder is the best. Bad guy, really." - Sammy first day of ST
  12. There's always going to be those psychos that complain when things are good and then shout from the rooftops how everything is amazing when Carl Crawford is signed.
  13. 100%. We've been there.
  14. No, but they should. I think they'll try to re-sign Bregman and possibly fail. They'll have some excuse as to how the market surprised them or whatever. Probably just add a few low end relievers and a high injury risk starter.
  15. *Just happy to be there. The guttural scream heard during the Bryan Woo interview last night was great.
  16. Living out there at the time, everyone despised that ownership group even before it all fell apart. The Grady Little years were largely wasted by Ned Colletti. Things were relatively exciting for a brief period when Torre was the manager and Mannywood hit.
  17. Thank you to former Sox Prospect Eduard Bazardo for giving back to the AL East. Re2pect!
  18. The McCourts get separated because Jamie is cheating with her bodyguard in fall of 2009. 12 months later, the post-nuptial agreement is invalidated by a judge. McCourt runs out of money and is unable to make payroll. MLB seized control from McCourt in April 2011. Great ownership, really. "I have taken this action because of my deep concerns regarding the finances and operations of the Dodgers and to protect the best interests of the Club, its great fans and all of Major League Baseball. My office will continue its thorough investigation into the operations and finances of the Dodgers and related entities during the period of Mr. McCourt's ownership." - Bud Selig Maybe the McCourts shouldn't have used the Dodgers as their personal credit card to fund their lavish lifestyle?
  19. JH could spend the same on his ballclub. He CHOOSES not to.
  20. The were 12th in payroll last season while 3rd in revenue. TIGHTWAD.
