  1. If they had a #2, they get to the ALDS. That may be the key. Does it mean trading Duran plus two big prospects or a FA??? FA: Suarez or Cease Trade: Twins, Reds, other team
  2. 4 out of the top 5 spenders made the playoffs. 2 out of the top 5 made the Championship Series. If TOR wins tonight, the 2 WS teams will be top 5 spenders. Henry should like those odds. SEA may not have spent a ton, but they made a splash at the deadline and have a cheap, loaded rotation.
  3. Who cares? You're still trading one year of Roman for DET's one year of Skubal. Just wait until he hits FA or get a cheaper deal.
  4. I remember they played a one game series that Crochet was in, but then nothing happened after. Very weird.
  5. Wow. We used to be top 5 almost every year, but now we could have been top 10!!!
  6. JH being cheap is the way of the new Red Sox.
  7. One year of Skubal is not worth Roman Anthony.
  8. The Red Sox choose to not have 5 aces. They have more than enough money. They just use it on real estate development.
  9. It would be nice if you had a link to the pitchers on the hitters page and vice versa.
  10. Sox were 12th in payroll for year ending 2025. Not a huge jump up from where they've been the past few seasons TBH. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/2025/10/13/mlb-teams-payroll-2025-highest-lowest/86667489007/
  11. What will JH allow tho?
  12. Crochet is the ace we’ve needed. Anthony is the franchise position player. You need both.
  13. Crochet with Anthony: 11 - 3, .786% Crochet without Anthony: 12 - 6, .667%
  14. They were a below .500 team without Roman Anthony in the lineup. I don't know what to tell you.
  15. I agree. I said prior to 2025 that it was a transitional season and almost a "punt" year because they were really testing their waters with the young guys. Well, now they know what Anthony is. They have 4 OFers, Story, a starting catcher and that's it right now. They have an opportunity to add via trade and FA to get them to be a WS contender. I'm just not sure if Breslow has the capacity to get them there in one offseason. This is his third season as CBO and the training wheels should be off by now.
  16. Roman Anthony Red Sox 2025 record With Roman Anthony: 46-27 Without Roman Anthony: 43-46
  17. How is the plan wrecked? Anthony is here and he's great! He's as good as advertised. The idea of a "Big Three" came straight from the FO. It wasn't simply message board fodder. The Red Sox put their hopes in these guys. It's what they were waiting on. Was it the safest strategy? No. Should they have tried to compete from '20 - '24 while the kids were still in MilB? Of course. I'm going to enjoy watching Anthony for the next several years. I hope the Sox stay competitive and that Henry doesn't keep them under the CBT more often than not.
  18. Campbell and De Leon are off the 40 man now.
  19. Wasting one of his years would be fielding a noncompetitive team. They made the playoffs. It wasn't successful. They aren't going to win the WS every year. Did they waste Pedro's prime from 98-03?
  20. Mike Trout's prime ended at 27. Believing that prime years don't happen until the mid 20's is outdated.
  21. Whatever Mayer provides is a bonus at this point TBH. They just need to have a good backup. I have no idea what the dartboard throw will give us with Campbell. I could see him either being a AAAA guy or becoming the 900 OPS guy we thought he'd be. Really high variance with him still.
