  1. That's why a deal may not make sense for the Sox. If I'm Brezzz, I look at the lack of a pipeline in my org and probably decide just to hold onto Casas because I need bats, he has options, he is cheap and he could potentially still have a high ceiling.
  2. If someone was going to offer me an average MLB reliever for Bleis, I'd take that offer right now. You need to produce on the field at some point. He isn't hitting for power and the low line drive rate is concerning. He either hits a groundball, or just pops it up. He's projected to have a low hit tool, but lots of power and it's just not there. He's fast and looks good in warmups. '25 685 OPS '24 657 OPS '23 607 OPS He hasn't had an OPS above 750 for a partial season since he left the complex league. I just don't see him as a top prospect.
  3. I don't think Valera gets to BOS in late '27. Monegro is out after TJS so I don't see that either. That '28 group seems like it could beat a few of those '27 guys for sure. I like Aita, but he seems like a one level at a time guy. Maybe the '28 guys get adjusted after they see them pitch this spring?
  4. No, people are mad because the Globe printed a dopey picture of him with the Xander story. He wasn't going to match the Padres's offer.
  5. I think both trades on their own are fine, but don't see them getting two TOTR starters this offseason. If they get one, they wrap it up. Bichette would be a bad signing for BOS. I don't like his swing at Fenway and hate his glove. There's also no way they start the year above the 2nd CBT threshold.
  6. What's with the fascination of Rengifo on this board? I'd rather send Romy to 3b fulltime then sign Rengifo.
  7. I can't really fault Chaim for not thinking a dying owner was going to give Bogey one of the worst contracts in baseball. Good for Bogey though.
  8. He had some injury concerns prior to '23 as well.
  9. If I'm an opposing GM, I'd consider trading for Casas, but am only giving up a very low leverage relief arm (Zack Kelly-type). There's just no value there right now after the past two years.
  10. Not to be debbie downer, but he needs to pick a position. He couldn't even get through his first season without getting injured and being a two way player is double the work. If he was to just move to SS, but do side bullpens here and there I think that's a better option than what he's trying to do now. OR move to pitching fulltime, but let him take BP and DH once a week.
  11. Romy's problem is that he can't backup SS and the Sox have two injury prone-ish SS's.
  12. Should have dealt him last offseason when he had more value.
  13. Sometimes, you can't pick your teammates.
  14. For playing in the playoffs and not reaching the 2nd CBT line by trading Devers (more important to him).
  15. A good sign, but once this round is signed, there isn't a great pipeline behind them that haven't yet appeared in BOS IMO.
  16. Their owners are pocketing so much $$$ it's ridiculous. Feel bad for the fans since they are getting ripped off by their team, not the system.
  17. Jays have a very large payroll, just gave Vlad Jr a 500M contract and tried signing Ohtani and Soto. Would people have been upset if they won?
  18. They avoided calling up Campbell this year when they really could have used him again. I think they'll will be pretty careful with him going forward.
  19. The guys that could help this season: Tolle, Early, Dobbins, Perales, Sandlin, Mullins, Campbell, Garcia. The pitchers have some question marks, but could fill in if Brezzz runs into injury issues or if the prospects continue to progress. I'm not very high on Sandlin, but he could turn it around quickly. The hitters don't really seem ready at the moment to me. I don't know how soon they'll get Campbell to MLB again, but he still has work to do and didn't really get back to the player he was in '24 whether to do injury or "losing weight" as the Sox said (not believable to me). Garcia needs more work in pitch recognition or he's just going to get eaten alive after promotion. Any injury on the offensive side of the ball is going to really hurt the Sox. They just don't have inhouse replacements ready to go.
  20. "Look, we just gotta tell those dummies we're interested in everybody and they'll believe it! Hey, we're gonna trade for a number 2! See, it worked..."
  21. He missed time in ST due to food poisoning due to his clean eating.
