  1. Tied for 11th in wRC+. If the top 2 teams are tied in HR's you don't say they are tied at #2. The Sox were 7th in runs. Refsnyder will be back if they want him. The 2b position will be more productive this season if Mayer is the Opening Day guy. Improve what odds? Get to the playoffs? If the Sox have a top 10 pitching staff and a top 10 offense, the only thing left to tweak is the defense and that's not what is being proposed.
  2. Large and long for a DH type is what got Devers traded. No way do they do that for Alonso or Schwarber.
  3. Devers and Anthony overlapped for like 10 games. Anthony is Devers's replacement. Bringing Bregman back is just running the same offense back as last year which was a top 10 offense. Adding Hoskins should improve it.
  4. Too bad! I have to pay for my own new roof and MLB owners won't even pay for the Rays's!
  5. I'm stating what I'd pay him, not what he'll go for. 37M AAV is not worth it for Bo. He was terrible last season and is moving off of SS.
  6. If Anthony is healthy, Breggie is healthy and they add Hoskins, they'll be a good (not great) offense.
  7. Bichette hit his Fenway HR's off: Eovaldi ERod Pivetta (2) - '21 version Kluber Webber
  8. That's a very lazy way to look at things. I think he'd be a below average 2b TBH. The move off of SS also greatly affects his value.
  9. Doesn't seem plausible to just put Masa at 1B.
  10. Too long, too much IMO.
  11. Might be, but I don't like his glove and the Sox are saying they are trying to improve D.
  12. Last year, people thought Pivetta would accept the QO.
  13. Two teams had to play in MiLB stadiums for the whole year! It'll happen again for the next year as well! They say the Trop will be ready for Opening Day, but I don't buy it. The roof will be done, but I think the rest of the work will fall behind. Manfred just lets these owners do whatever they want and runs cover for them. Both the Rays and A's couldn't stop fighting with the local governments they needed to work with. It's just pathetic. A's are most likely moving to Las Vegas, but many people still believe it's not a done deal. There is no real plan with the Rays and the new owners don't want to play in the Trop very long. My guess is that the repairs are completed and then they work on moving to Nashville.
  14. The hard floor is reasonable, sure. I just don't think the owners will go for it because they'll want a hard cap to go with it and the players won't go for that. Everyone is complaining about the Dodgers right now and the Dodgers aren't what's wrong with baseball IMO.
  15. I like Hoskins because of his swing profile's fit at Fenway. O'Neill '22-'23: 649 PA, 23 HR, 707 OPS O'Neill '24: 473 PA, 31 HR, 847 OPS
  16. Why does something have to give? The owners are making a lot of money. The players are doing well. There is nothing wrong with the game. There is no reason for a work stoppage except for pure greed from the owners.
  17. I just think JH isn't blowing anyone's doors off anymore. 🫠 He should!
  18. The problem was the end of the year when Breggie slumped and Anthony was injured. Otherwise, the Sox offense was fairly successful.
  19. QO and spend the money on any number of holes.
