  1. I agree that his value should be high because of his pay, but it still seems a little inflated.
  2. They won the WS without that choker.
  3. Feltman has barely pitched?
  4. That's because I'm good at posting.
  5. I could see them protecting Downs/Bello/Winckowski/Santos/Crawford/Feltman/Cottam.
  6. I like Verdugo, but I don't think his BTV amount is accurate. Seems kinda high.
  7. Verdugo and the Renfroe pitcher.
  8. Yeah, I don't see Schwarber coming back.
  9. I don't get the argument about NOT offering the QO. More often than not, players will outright reject the QO. Even Stephen freakin' Drew rejected the QO. My guess is that ERod rejects it too. It allows the Sox to sign a QO guy without losing anything or get a free comp pick. It just makes too much sense to offer anyone halfway decent a QO. And ERod was a top 20 SP per fWAR last season.
  10. Rodriguez Fangraphs: 4/20M, $80M Crowd median: 4/18M, $72M Crowd average: 4/18.2M, $78M Schwarber Fangraphs: 4/15M, $60M Crowd median: 4/15M, $60M Crowd average: 4/14.9M, $59.6M
  11. In strict Webster's terms, it seems that cash out would be to take the QO (convert noncash assets to cash) but cash in would be to reject the QO (settle accounts and withdraw from an involvement). They are kind of used interchangeably though.
  12. Hard to say. In FA, he can get a guaranteed 4 year deal, but for less AAV.
  13. Much? IDK. He was a better bet than Kiké IMO. 2017 4.8 fWAR 2018 3.1 fWAR 2020 1.7 fWAR (would have been 3+ in a full season) 2021 3.1 fWAR Kiké only had one season above 3 (2018) before hitting the market. Taylor's value is completely in his bat since he had 5 straight years with 100+ WRC+. Kiké's value is in his glove and that doesn't get the cash registers ringing.
  14. Maybe he thinks he can get 4/40 or 3/35? IDK.
  15. I think the Braves will break the bank to keep him around.
  16. We "could" spend that 18M better, but that really depends on who is available in FA. What guys does Bloom think he can get on good value deals? We'll have to see. Maybe he can find another Renfroe or trade for another Pivetta.
  17. There's a lot of chatter about the Sox trying to sneak into the SS market. I don't really see it.
  18. You think Chris accepts? He's definitely at the high point of his career. This may be time to cash out.
  19. @JonHeyman Red Sox extend qualifying offer to Eduardo Rodriguez
  20. Then we can give him a QO next offseason.
  21. Heyman: JD Martinez declines to exercise optout and remains a Red Sox.
  22. What is a "reasonable" offer?
  23. That was one of Miley's best seasons too, 2.7 fWAR.
  24. @mlbtraderumors Hiroshima Carp To Post Outfielder Seiya Suzuki For MLB Teams The slugging right fielder is considered to be among the very best players in NPB at the moment and is putting the finishing touches on a monster season that has seen him slash .319/.436/.644 with 38 home runs, 26 doubles and nine steals (in 13 tries). That’s hardly a one-year fluke, either; dating back to 2018, the right-handed-hitting Suzuki has put together a combined .319/.435/.592 batting line with 121 home runs, 115 doubles, four triples and 44 stolen bases (albeit in 72 attempts) through 2167 plate appearances. Unlike many sluggers, Suzuki achieves this production without selling out for the power. Since 2018, he’s fanned in only 16.4 percent of his plate appearances — compared to a nearly identical 16 percent walk rate.
