  1. What they are far apart on is the CBT. Players want it to go up to $240is and then increase every year. Owners want to keep it where it is $210ish. Basically, the revenue pot keeps growing for owners, but the salary pot for the players will see barely any movement.
  2. Per MLB, if a deal isn't done today, the season will not start on time and the games won't be made up.
  3. I didn't think that much of Arauz, but that number is UGLY.
  4. Well, per Fangraphs, Verdugo was better than Renfroe in 2021 and everyone looked at him as having a down year.
  5. No, there hasn't been any real updates aside from conjecture and projection.
  6. Dude had to opt out in 2021. That was basically the nail in the coffin of his career. Well, that and his mediocre production.
  7. If O'Neil had played his whole career in NY, you could probably make the case to retire his number. Also, #9 should be for Nettles, not Maris.
  8. Yes, very weird.
  9. I think the assumption is that they'll sign Suzuki. I think they also need to give Duran a real opportunity to play this season.
  10. It would be my #1 priority.
  11. Verdugo may not be a big trade chip, but he's probably the best one they have, unless you're counting franchise players that shouldn't be traded.
  12. @PeteAbe The #RedSox were supposed to be playing @GoNUbaseball right now in Fort Myers. Probably would have seen a lineup with Yorke, Casas, and some of the other young guys. NU switched up and is playing U. of Minnesota today at Hammond Stadium instead.
  13. Posters have talked about moving him to 1b even before he was called up. I'm not sure he'd even be a good 1b. I'd be more likely to move him to LF.
  14. And I don't see the roster crunch that would be the impetus to move him this year either. Maybe next year if Dalbec AND Casas both need starting roles?
  15. Who is the last super hyped Sox prospect to fall flat? I can't really think of any in recent memory. Youk Hanley Lester Ellsbury Paplebon Buchholz (maybe? still had a decent career) LARS ANDERSON Xander Mookie Moncada Devers Beni Of these guys, only Lars Anderson fits the bill. Seems like the most hyped guys have worked out?
  16. I don't think replacing Mayer with Correa is a great idea. The part of the reason you keep Mayer around is due to the cost savings from his first 6 years in MLB. I'm not sure Downs, Dalbec or Duran have a ton of trade value right now. Yorke is still a big question mark, but I think you hold onto him because of his ceiling. The best trade chip they have is Verdugo. He's young and cost controlled. He's already a proven MLB commodity.
  17. How does the team improve if Casas fizzles out AND JD is traded? If JD is traded, they better be sure about Casas.
  18. Casas is already a decent 1b. No reason to move him off position.
  19. It's they only thing they are truly good at.
  20. Not very well.
  21. This is supposed to be a politics free zone.
  22. With no Hendu, they don't make the World Series.
  23. The only Putin I know is puttin' Arroyo on the IL.
  24. Armas was on the bench because he was injured and sucked.
