    I'd say they should go with Xander as SS for 2022. If they fall out of it and can't extend him, you can probably still move him at the deadline for a pitcher comparable to Urquidy. Bloom would probably move him for prospects though.

    The things I do like about him: low bb% throws mostly down in the zone decent movement on his FB What I really, really, really don't like about him: he just can't stay on the field limited ceiling of a third starter, but most likely a 4th starter

    Did the Dodgers win a WS before they signed Betts? Are the Nats a better team now that they don't have to pay Scherzer? Will the Astros be a better team if Correa signs elsewhere? Of the top 5 payrolls, 4 at least made the WC game this year. Is that correlation?

    If they want to get rid of salary, it's easy enough to move: Olson 12M Arb Proj Manaea 10M Arb Proj Chapman 10M Arb Proj Bassitt 9M Arb Proj That's over 50% of team salary right there. Trivino isn't the problem if they're trying to make payroll. I'm sure they'd love to get rid of Elvis Andrus, but that would be a harder sell for other teams. They'd have to eat most of Piscotty's salary if they moved him.

    Sale? Probably overpaid unless he can come back better. Bogaerts? FMV JD? Overpaid Eovaldi? FMV Devers? Underpaid Barnes? Overpaid (Bloom) Renfroe? FMV Kiké? FMV Vaz? Slightly overpaid? Pivetta? FMV So is your problem just Sale and JD?

    Allocating 2.9M towards a closer seems pretty cheap to me.
