  1. He's 42 as of last week.
  2. Over/under is probably closer to 85 for Hill. Wacha? Tougher to say as he'll spend a portion of the year in the pen.
  3. He lost the war on Pole Pesky.
  4. File under IT COULD ALWAYS BE WORSE: @JesseRogersESPN Probably not a great thing, when Fernando Tatis was asked when his motorcycle accident happened, he responded, 'which one.'
  5. The Braves. Now that the bases will be getting bigger, they believe two players can now play 1B.
  6. @chelsea_janes MLB announces experimental rule changes will be tested in the minors during the 2022 season: Pitch timer, all full-season affiliates. Larger bases, all full-season affiliates. Defensive positioning limits (four players on the infield, two on each side of second) in AA/A Automatic balls and strikes in Triple-A (Triple-A West from May 17th on, Triple A East at all games in Charlotte) and Low A (a challenge system in which pitcher, catcher, batter can appeal ump's ball or strike call to ABS. Three appeals each, keep the appeal if you're right.)
  7. Better than the Marwin signing.
  8. If Khalil Lee finds more success than the return BOS got, you can mark it down as a bad trade against Bloom.
  9. No, Beni was a fairly popular player. People were not happy when he was dealt.
  10. Last year's rotation started the year with Richards and Perez. I'm fine with not going that route again.
  11. You can just scout the boxscores if you want, but that's less than ideal.
  12. Terrible in terms of him throwing 5 mph slower than he was when thought he'd be a SP for us. From SoxProspects: "Needs velocity and feel for changeup to return to reach his ceiling. With diminished velocity projects more as a spot-starter or low-end number five type."
  13. I would agree. It's going to be a few more WTF moves that somehow work out in the end.
  14. Ottavino, probably.
  15. He dumped Marwin. Or are we only counting acquisitions?
  16. I'd say Hill is a bigger health liability, sure.
  17. Sox are hoping for 1/2 year out of Hill plus 1/2 year out of Paxton = solid mid rotation guy.
  18. I'm currently reaching out to Jeff Gillooly.
  19. I agree. 150 games or less would have made more sense.
  20. I don't think they will need to if they are just signing McHugh and Suzuki.
  21. It's up to 230, so they should be good.
  22. I think it matters even more.
  23. Spring Training matters.
  24. Seabold? Close to zero. He was terrible at AAA last season with diminished stuff. Maybe he has a spot start or two, but more likely that would go to Kutter. Winckowski could see some time depending on how he is pitching in AAA. Only has 12 innings above AA. He's got some work to do to be in that conversation though.
