  1. I'll take a shot at the FCL > SAL pipeline. Pitchers: Jedixson Paez - SP (young and needs lots of refinement, stuff is not there yet) Elmer Rodriguez-Cruz SP (2021 4th rounder, tall and lean with velo, but his delivery is all over the place right now because he's he's built like a deer) Nate Tellier - RP (pitched in SAL last season) Merfy Andres - RP (throws obscenely hard, but doesn't know where it's going) Hitters: Miguel Bleis - CF (soon to be top 100 prospect) Juan Chacon - RF (received highest 19-20 bonus) Daniel McElveny - UTIL (21 draft pick) BJ Vela - 2B (21 draft pick) Note: While, Enderso Lira is a good prospect, as C will move level to level slowly.
  2. https://www.milb.com/player/josh-winckowski-670174 Pitcher that is too good for AAA. 23 years old. 4 pitch mix. Maybe a back end starter? At worst, he's going to have a career in the bullpen somewhere. He's definitely an MLB talent.
  3. They would have screwed him up in AA.
  4. It's the 25% k rate added with a 5% bb rate in hitters league in A ball that is concerning. He doesn't have a great approach right now. I'm just saying that he's not at Yorke's level, not that he doesn't deserve to be a top 100 prospect.
  5. Frankie Montas is pretty good. Maybe the end up making Sean Murphy the AS though.
  6. At least the food is typically good when it's in person and at a hotel. Otherwise, you just focus on your meditation and pretend you are anywhere else. The afternoon cookie break was definitely not worth it.
  7. Work CPE is just a level of Dante's Inferno that I never want to go through again. I remember so many instances of partners just sitting in the back openly reading newspapers instead of paying attention. Other partners would basically beg for any meeting to count towards CPE.
  8. I have not heard this before. I've just heard that he has average stuff, but no wipeout pitches that he can dominate with. Needs to rely mostly on location.
  9. He makes Kyle Schwarber look like Casey Kotchman.
  10. I'm not so sure about that. Just looking at his K/BB shows he has a long way to go.
  11. I mean, converting someone to play 1b is not exactly unheard of.
  12. I broke my brain yesterday by doing CPE for Church Taxation and Blockchain Technology.
  13. UZR/150 -31.5 DRS -4, only 97 innings He's horrible out there.
  14. A nice barehanded play at SS by Rafaela
  15. Losing what fans though? People were complaining on here that nobody cares about the Sox anymore and that only 18,000 people ever show up to the games. Then I go look at the attendance and they are still well over 30k even though the other two local professional teams were currently in the playoffs, the Sox tickets are the second highest in MLB, the economy is iffy and the team has been even iffier at times.
  16. Nobody actually believes Detroit is the reason that ERod is sitting out right now.
  17. As a chain call-up when Binelas moves up to Portland. Portland has so many holes that a bunch of guys could move up there at will. My guess is that Mayer, Hickey and Sikes also get called up at some point.
  18. That was the year Pedro Ciriaco earned a trip to the AS Game in ST.
  19. Don't ask me to remember too much about 2020. It's not going to work.
  20. @SoxProspects Niko Kavadas went 3-for-3 with a double (15), home run (8), three RBI (34), and two walks in today's 12-3 Salem Red Sox victory. The 23-year-old first baseman has slashed .267/.443/.515 over 219 PA this season.
  21. The pitching staff was a mess of Bloom's creation. Maybe the offense bails out the team over 162 games and they get back to .500? IDK. Aside from penciling in Peraza for an Opening Day start, the rest of the lineup was fine IMO.
  22. Yes, the upper reaches of the farm were barren when he got here. The only guys in the top 20 in AA or better were Mata, Duran, Marcus Wilson, Dalbec, Houck and CJ Chatham. Half of the top 20 finished 2019 in Lowell. Top 10 end of 2019: Casas - High A Mata - AA (TJS '21) Groome - RK (TJS '18) Jimenez - RK Dalbec - AAA Duran - AA Houck - AAA Song - RK Chatham - AAA Ward - High A (TJS '21) Zeferjahn - RK Aldo Ramirez - RK Murphy - RK Lugo - RK Decker - RK Cannon - RK Bello - Low A Flores - RK Rafaela - RK Marcus Wilson - AA
  23. @alexspeier RHP Bryan Mata will remain with High-A Greenville this week for his third rehab start as he continues his return from Tommy John surgery. 2 GS, 5 IP, H, 4 BB, 7 K, 1.00 WHIP, 1.80 ERA
  24. @BeyondtheMnstr Blaze Jordan with a three-run bomb for Salem https://twitter.com/BeyondtheMnstr/status/1536740396327387138
  25. Busy season is over. College kids are gone. Enjoy the city. Davis Sq is pretty cool if you haven't been there yet. Take the Orange Line to Forest Hills and walk around the Arnold Arboretum. It's close enough to walk around JP from there.
