The problem is that if you start excluding "PED cheaters," how do you really know when to stop. Maybe Rice was on something in 78? Maybe Judge is on something now? The record book is the record book. Without bias, it's hard to parse it out any further than what is already written down.

Yes, because that is truly how us clutch atheists disprove its existence. Over the long term the performance will surely go back to the mean. Honestly, I can't believe all these clutch believers who just think there are mythical baseball players who can be "clutch" which ONLY means that they play EXCEEDINGLY BETTER than they usually do when it matters the most. He's hit 24 this year. He hit 23 in 2019 and 2017. It's not THAT fishy. His barrel rate is way up, which is the biggest reason his hard hit % is better. There's no drug available that allows you to barrel a ball better. Barry had drugs to make him stronger, but his now banned elbow pad was what really helped his swing get through the zone consistently.

Dwight Evans only hit 13 HR's as a 23 year old! Renfroe has had 5 seasons with 25 or more HR's at age 30. At age 30, Evans only had one! If they replaced Renfroe with Evans, where would the power come from?!?
