  1. So Pivetta, who nobody thought much of and not a whole lot else then.
  2. I expected a team that could have been competitive rather than embarrassing. I'll take Mayer out of the deal in retrospect, but sheesh.
  3. Who said it was easy? It's not easy. The transaction wire from 2020 was an embarrassment though.
  4. He's had a resurgent year, that's for sure. I can't outright say he's the best though. I think he's definitely a better fit in RF than in CF at this point in his career.
  5. The longest 60 games of my life. It somehow turned me into a Chris Mazza truther. I don't want to go back there.
  6. I mean, they're 11th in starter fWAR. I'd say that's better than mediocre. I hate Joe Maddon though. The worst.
  7. Is that our theory, he's one of them?
  8. Nobody expected a miracle. The turd that was provided wasn't even polished.
  9. Maybe? But that pitching staff was a complete disaster. Just embarrassing from top to bottom. Yes, Sale AND ERod were hurt with no AAA pitching that could help. Maybe he could have tried Mata? Gone to Houck sooner? If he dealt Beni prior to 2020, he probably could have got a pretty substantial haul.
  10. Hamilton has too much lift on his swing and needs to just slap the ball more. Use his speed to get on base. He's not strong enough to mash. Bad approach.
  11. The problem with brown diaper fans like STORK is that they just need something to rant about. It's always a miserable day somewhere for them.
  12. Why can't you blame the bottom half of that roster on Bloom? He grabbed those guys?
  13. @SoxProspects Andy Lugo went 4-for-6 with a double (1) and an RBI (2) in today's 15-6 DSL Red Sox Blue victory. The 18-year-old started in leftfield and is off to a 6-for-10 start to his professional career. @SoxProspects Marvin Alcantara went 4-for-6 with a double (1) and four RBI (4) in today's DSL Red Sox Blue 15-6 win. The 17-year-old infielder is off to a 7-for-11 start in his first two professional games.
  14. Except you also say s*** like this. So you can't get mad at the team if the 300M shoes aren't filled since you didn't want to pay to really fill them anyway. You either: (a) want Mookie Betts on the team and will pay to keep him there ( realize that Mookie wants to much and will trade to get whatever you can I think Bloom did his best with option (. I hated the trade at the time and still wish they signed him to an absurdly long deal because it's not my money.
  15. 5 years of Verdugo.
  16. Those are big shoes to fill. When you have guys like Mookie, Xander and Raffy, I think you do whatever it takes to make sure they don't walk out that door.
  17. Renfroe has been pretty useless while sitting on the IL since May 23. He's supposed to come back, but hamstring issues can linger. We'll see if his production dips at all.
  18. Well, if the Dodgers had a cheaper version of Mookie Betts, why would they trade him for a more expensive and older version of Mookie Betts? The equal value is, as others have stated, one year of Mookie Betts vs 5 years of Alex Verdugo, plus lottery tickets of Wong and Downs. Dodgers were nice enough to take 1/2 of Price's contract in the deal too. Mookie Betts 2020: 2.9 fWAR Verdugo since 2020: 3.8 fWAR
  19. Until the come with with CatcherFIP for moon, we're going to have to reference ERA every once in a while whether you like it or not old man.
  20. Is this better? 1.50 WHIP
  21. When you make trades that include prospects, there's always a considerable value of uncertainty. If Alex Verdugo played like 2020 for his entire time here, the deal would have worked out in the Sox favor. We'll see what the numbers look like once his arb years end.
  22. Davis had a 4.86 ERA in 16.2 innings last season. Not sure that's significant in a good way.
  23. DSL Red Sox Blue scored 11 runs yesterday and have already put up another 11 today. Hot bats down there.
  24. Yes, but that was later in the ballgame, not as early as the Rays or Astros have extended guys.
