  1. Our junk is another man's treasure. That's the adage, right?
  2. They'll drag it out until closer to game time most likely.
  3. A FULL SEASON of Arroyo is about 50 games.
  4. Have you seen some of the other threads around here. This is pertinent as it's actually something that is happening today. Rather than getting buried in a 200 page thread, I'm fine with it.
  5. Robles. He's just the worst. Sawamura can go after him.
  6. It's his second highest wRC+ year of his career. He's already at 3.3 fWAR through 60 games. If he doubles that to 6.6, it'd be his third best season.
  7. I think this year was his last shot. His power numbers look nice, but his approach is just brutal. I guess his glove looks like it can stick at SS. Try to package him in a trade to clear up the 40 man spot.
  8. Promotion season is usually in a few weeks. Good to let these guys have success for a little while too. If you promote Kavadas and Hickey, you need to have a corresponding move and find them AB's. I don't want Kavadas taking AB's from Binelas and Hickey still needs a TON of work behind the plate or to move him off position.
  9. Yeah, not likely. Connor Wong hasn't really hit consistently. R Hernandez can't catch at all. There's just no replacement for him right now.
  10. Fitz has a 481 OPS in June though. Yuck!
  11. Fitz isn't on the 40 man. My comment was stating they'd have to DFA someone in order to get a different positional player (like Fitz) onto the 40 man to be called up.
  12. I haven't seen any of the recent games that Duran has started. How has he looked swinging the bat?
  13. @Ken_Rosenthal MLB sent memo to GMs, asst. GMs and managers yesterday saying that as of Monday, the limitation on the number of pitchers on an active roster will be 13. Rule originally intended to begin in ‘20 finally will take effect. Earlier this season, MLB twice extended 14-pitcher limit. If Kiké is not activated, either Wong, Downs or R Hernandez could get the call short term since Arauz was DFA'd. Another DFA to bring up Fitz?
  14. You know nothing. There's going to be a Jon Snow spin off.
  15. The only NL team I had to grow up to hate was the Mets. As an adult, I can appreciate how cool Doc and Darrel were, but the rest of the Mets can go blow. Unfortunately, the only MiLB team near me are the Mets, so I'm cursed to have little Mets ice cream helmets in my kids rooms for some reason.
  16. Mata's k numbers are out of control right now. I wonder if they are going to just keep marching him up through WOO. It's crazy that he missed 2020 and 2021, is pitching like this and is still only 23.
  17. I liked the Cardinals when I was younger and baseball wasn't filled with stupid interleague play. Ozzie Smith Willie McGee Terry Pendleton Vince Coleman Now that's baseball...
  18. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/g/garrebr01.shtml At least there's only one Braxton right now.
  19. It just takes a while to get there. Some fans need to be a little more patient.
  20. Go compare the A's and Rays tv ratings and get back to me.
  21. I'm rooting for him too and Story's long term position is going to be 2b.
  22. The Rays have actually made it to the World Series. The Rays have actually signed their young superstars to long term extensions. If I had to pick between being a Rays fan and an A's fan it's a very easy call.
  23. Again, BILLY BEANE HAS WON ZERO ALCS GAMES SINCE BECOMING A'S GM AND HAS ONLY MADE IT THAT FAR ONCE. At some point, you need to get over that hump. Just being "competitive" and never re-signing your guys is not enjoyable. That fanbase has no hope. From the list I mentioned, I'd rather be a Mariners fan who has never made it to the playoffs (better ballpark), Twins fan (better newer ballpark and recent FA acquisition history), Toronto fan (Bichette/Vlad and money spent) and maybe even a Milwaukee fan (young stars, recent success and better ballpark). So maybe the A's fans are on par with the Reds, Pirates and O's? A's are more assured of wins from time to time, but have a worse overall outlook from year to year as ownership will never pay their players, their MiLB players are treated like garbage and ownership has threatened to move the team for decades.
  24. As a fan, why do I care about how much money is spent per win?
