  1. Joely Rodriguez Top 4% in limiting Exit Velo Top 9% in Hard Hit % Bottom 6% in BB Rate xSLG top 16% xISO top 9% xBRL top 3% Primarily a Sinker/Changeup guy. Gets a decent amount of k's and limits hard contact. If he can reduce the walks, he could be pretty good. @ChrisCotillo Joely Rodriguez gets $2M guarantee with a $4.25M club option for 2024, per source. That's a better use of money than Brasier IMO.
  2. @alexspeier The Red Sox' first free-agent signing of the offseason: LHP Joely Rodríguez on a one-year deal with a 2024 team option. Rodríguez had a 4.47 ERA (3.64 DRA) and 26.4 percent strikeout rate in 55 games/50 1/3 innings for the Mets last year.
  3. You know what I meant, nerd.
  4. How do you adjust for that though?
  5. Mike Trout's best season came after he turned 25. Of his 5 years above 175 wRC+, only one came before he was 25. Matt Olson's best wRC+ full season came after he turned 25.
  6. Why did they wait until August to adjust? The book on Devers hadn't been out until 8/22? Wild!
  7. Also, Sox ownership need to provide some Goodwill right about now.
  8. He had a 170 wRC+ prior to the injury. That's REALLY good. Ortiz only had 2 seasons at 170 or better.
  9. What age did David Ortiz peak? What age did JD Martinez peak? Xander? Guys get better after they turn 25 all the time. It's very normal.
  10. We'll see. I'm not going to project a boom in offense prior to 2023. You never know what f***ery Manfred is going to come up with.
  11. Was that the issue prior to 2021?
  12. IDK. Someone out there probably has an itchy trigger finger.
  13. If Devers was moved to DH, he'd take less wear and tear on his body. He could just focus on hitting. I believe his offense would get better. I believe he'd be healthier. I don't think he'd be a 5 fWAR guy, but think he'd still be a 4 fWAR guy or close to it. Having a guy like that anchor the lineup pays dividends as we saw from 03-16. I pay him.
  14. Ohtani's offensive fWAR being solely a DH is not a comp? Devers' wRC+ laps JD's easily aside from 2018.
  15. This is victim blaming.
  16. The Brewers are a mess. They should just trade Yelich and move on.
  17. I wouldn't do Neris for Verdugo. That's a pass from me. Urquidy for Verdugo? Sure.
  18. No? Ortiz in 03 and 04 had 145 and 147 wRC+. Devers can do that. Ohtani had a 142 wRC+ at DH this season and got 3.8 fWAR from it. Devers can do that.
  19. If he transitions to DH and puts up wRC+ in the 140s, he'll have 4 fWAR seasons consistently. That's $32M in value per Fangraphs. 10X30, get it done.
  20. Per Fangraphs, 1 fWAR is worth 8M. A 5 fWAR season would be equate to 40M on the open market in value.
  21. According to Fangraphs Value, Raffy is worth it. Will he be worth it 8 years from now?
  22. Raffy is better than Story simply because of how good his bat is. I think he has a generational bat.
  23. Career: Ramirez 41.2 fWAR Arenado 45.7 fWAR (1000 extra PA's from 2013-15) Since 2016: Ramirez 39.5 fWAR Arenado 36.8 fWAR
  24. If there was, you'd be in the penalty box. Blocked.
  25. https://www.si.com/mlb/2022/08/18/astros-six-man-rotation-the-opener Apparently, the Angels have used a 6 man rotation since 2018?
