  1. Rafaela has not been his best self this year. People at the games have said his reads seems slower than in previous years.
  2. Devers, Drohan, Hamilton and $22M for Durbin, May, Monasterio, Seigler, Ziehl, Bello 🫥
  3. Happy Birthday to Sox Legends Marty Pattin, Lou Merloni and Blaine Neal.
  4. FIP is a metric called Fielding Independent Pitching that estimates a pitcher's expected run prevention independent of the defensive performance surrounding them. xFIP takes that and replaces the pitcher's home run total with an expected home run total. I just noticed that Weissert looked much better via xFIP than anything else because he's been hammered so badly. xFIP assumes that eventually his numbers will come back down over time and that he's just stuck in SSS right now.
  5. They already have 4 Assistant General Managers, why not bring on a few more?
  6. Ignoring the most recent offseason: Good deals Verdugo for Fitts, Weissert, Judice Ammons for Slaten Santos and Robertson for O'Neill Criswell one year FA '24 Claimed Romy Gonzalez on waivers Schreiber for Sandlin Yorke for Priester Rodriguez for Narvaez Teel, Montgomery, Meidroth and Gonzalez for Crochet Booser for Fajardo Gasper for Moran Newcomb MiLB deal Alex Bregman FA '25 Jordan for Matz Bad deals Sale for Grissom Giolito FA '24 Paulino, Cofffey and Batista for Jansen Portes for Sims Kavadas, Zeferjahn, Lugo and Vargas for Garcia Hendriks FA '24 Sandoval FA '25 Buehler FA '25 Priester for Rodriguez, Holobetz and Comp Pick Devers for Harrison, Hicks, Tibbs and Bello Tibbs and Ehrhard for May It's been kind of a mixed bag TBH. Some seemingly shrewd moves and some boneheaded ones thrown in.
  7. -4 DRS Rafaela has been really awful out there 😎
  8. Offense 27th in runs 25th in bb% 26th in k% Pitching 28th hr/9 28th xERA
  9. I'd be worried about the constant glares from BOH. He'd probably spike your coffee.
  10. No inside information, just a hunch. Figured that they were slightly higher on Bastardo as his stuff ticked up this spring and Paez looked more or less the same. Paez still has a starter profile and is probably a higher ceiling than Mullins (at least in how they view it currently).
  11. We saw enough of his issues last year in how he handled Devers. It's clear he can't handle these players either.
  12. If they fire Breslow, Cora is probably the only guy left who'll take the job.
  13. I think they'll play it out this season with Cora no matter what. JH will make a call and decide who to keep around Cora or Breslow. Hard to say what this org will do. They have previously gotten rid of Don Orsillo, Terry Francona, Theo Epstein, Dave Dombrowski, Mookie Betts, Xander Bogaerts, Chris Sale, Jon Lester, Manny Ramirez, Pedro Martinez, Rafael Devers, Adrian Gonzalez, et al. The following contracts expire after '27: CORA Story Masa Contreras? Chapman Oviedo Whitlock?
  14. He's the common denominator for the underperformance the past 8 years.
  15. This doesn't say much for Story's leadership abilities.
  16. WED THU FRI SAT SUN TOT Whitlock 37 0 0 0 0 37 Slaten 0 0 9 19 0 28 Chapman 0 0 21 17 0 38 Coulombe 16 0 0 8 2 26 Watson 0 0 0 26 0 26 Weissert 16 0 17 0 18 51 Uberstine 0 0 0 0 45 45 Kelly 0 0 0 9 17 26
  17. The three guys after him were: Brandon Clarke, Juan Valera and Connelly Early. I think that makes him a top prospect. It was a pretty strong system going into the trade deadline.
  18. Is there even a timetable for Romy? Post ASB?
