That Matz trade was a good trade. He also wasn't traded for a top 10 prospect. I'm just saying the Dustin May trade wasn't a typical deadline deal, while you contend that it was.

People in Brookline didn't slap him enough growing up. Gen X was too busy drinking water from the hose to do what needed to be done in the 1980's: bully Sam Kennedy.

I would also expect that the researchers would say that Story probably has built more than enough muscle mass to stave off osteoporosis and typical bone loss. These studies don't say that it's the muscles that provide cushion from a fall ("more muscles would mean more padding on impact"). It's the working out that builds strong bones. I'm sure Story has done enough working out per the studies.

John Henry painted himself into a corner by going 4 years with Ben (and a WS), 4 years with DD (and a WS) and 4 years with Bloom (and a completely rebuilt farm system 30th to 1st, which was the main goal). He can't have this job continue to be a turnstile. It's not a car dealership where he can find a general manager off the street. There are only so many people in the world that can do the job and he's running out of willing candidates.

Vientos could be the worst 3b in MLB. Where would he play for BOS? Platoon DH? Is Baty the fulltime 3B?

I don't remember being restless at that point? Sox were coming off the ALCS. The pre-injured Story was signed to a large contract and the collective feedback from RSN was a shrug.

At this point, with him missing substantial time AGAIN this year, I'm going to disagree with the last sentence. Everything he does leads to an injury. It's not a "freak injury" it's just him living with his fragility.

A top prospect for a starting pitcher that was just sent to the bullpen? That's a normal deadline trade?
