  1. Right now vs RHP: Anthony/Rafaela/Duran/Contreras/Abreu/Story/Mayer/Narvaez/Hamilton (Masa bench bat?) vs LHP: Anthony/Romy/Duran/Contreras/Masa/Story/Mayer/Narvaez/Rafaela (Abreu platoon bat?)
  2. Not every team has their own local tv deal. Not fair to make the Dodgers, Sox, Yankees shared theirs TBH. Having an 88 win team to get the first overall draft pick and the most draft pick $$$ makes no sense. Oook ook oooook.
  3. PHI had a 7/200M offer on the table that he turned down.
  4. Trading both Abreu and Duran seems like a lot!
  5. Since Dombrowski took over, that pen has been perfectly middle of the road (17th in ERA, 19th in WHIP, 12th in K-BB%). Even better than PHI could have expected from a guy who doesn't know how to build pens.
  6. Paredes would be my first choice too. He'd hit bombs like TON, Renfroe and Duvall did.
  7. "Those are the facts and the facts are undisputed. Or not."
  8. "Don't listen to ownership, listen to me!!!"
  9. No, don't want. There is a floor that would be really rough for the '26 Sox. Both guys have good gloves, but haven't figured out MLB pitching. There's a chance they never do. You can't have both of them along with Rafaela at the bottom of the lineup.
  10. I think he's just swapping out Suarez for Painter in his mind and going to use that money elsewhere. I think Suarez will be fine over the next 5 years. I think the only thing to watch out for is that he's NOT a workhorse. I hope Breslow doesn't try to tinker with his velo either.
  11. They may be in the minus zone, but Dave has taken the Phillies to the playoffs 4 out of 5 years, only missing the very first season. They've been over 90 wins the past 3 years. Maybe there will be a reckoning at some point. If there is one, it's because the farm system is generally towards the bottom third. DD can spend, but he does need to fill out the ballclub with some smaller contracts.
  12. '21 - missed 1 week '23 - missed 3 weeks '24 - missed 3 weeks '25 - missed 6-7 weeks Is this a curve that is getting worse or just bad luck in '25?
  13. They are the archetype of winning at the moment. Until the Sox are in the playoffs year in and year out, we need to hold them to something.
  14. Jazz and a prospect.
  15. Compare to the younger Mayer who has the better exit velo and defense that the Sox value. If they tried to go with Mayer and Shaw, it could create a very high ceiling, low floor IF for this year and the Sox may just need something a little more stable.
  16. Over on our sister site North Side Baseball, it's floated that the Cubs want to trade Shaw instead of Hoerner. https://northsidebaseball.com/news-rumors/chicago-cubs/6-suitors-for-matt-shaw-and-the-players-cubs-might-target-in-trades-with-them-r2472/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=bluesky Potential targets: Bello is a good young pitcher, but not a frontline guy, and the team-friendly extension to which the team signed him has so much meat left on the bone (four years, $50.5 million, with an option for 2030 that would earn him another $20 million) that the Cubs might be wary of taking it on. Crawford is an interesting arm with three years of club control left, but in order to accept him as the pitching help in a Shaw deal, Hoyer would have to get a pretty good second piece, which is unlikely. Tolle or Early would be a great return for Shaw, allowing the Sox to fill the hole left in their infield by their failure to re-sign Bregman while netting the Cubs a high-upside left-handed hurler. That would be a fun challenge trade—but Boston covets the depth and flexibility both lefties provide.
  17. Bo to PHI Bellinger to NYM Duran to NYY
  18. Bidding wars are fun if your team is not involved.
  19. It's always the other case the team would probably say no. That's just less fun to say on here for the most part. We've had a few offseasons now where the OF didn't make sense and it seems like they'll still probably go into the season with 4 OFers. I'm sure the offseason rumors hasn't hurt Duran's mental health at all.
