  1. That honor will always belong to Carlos Silva.
  2. I bet none of y'all can hit any ML pitchers. Hitting MLB pitching is hard, period. Give credit where credit is due.
  3. Casas smoked all three of his hits last night with exit velos of 110, 102 and 98 MPH, one of them a barrell. Patience grasshoppers.
  4. Two third basemen? No wonder they're losing a bunch of games
  5. Exactly why you look at underlying stats, and not just outcomes.
  6. He has one of the hardest exit velos in the league, and an above average barrel rate but he doesn't make a lot of hard contact. Alrighty then.
  7. The simple problem is that he's unplayable right now and doesn't have a history of success to suggest he'll right the ship.
  8. You're posting it into existence. Stop.
  9. I know you're not talking about 2023. But they could easily re-sign him if he 's healthy.
  10. You're kind of a jerk aren't you? Seriously, let's keep it civil folks.
  11. I agreed with the Sox' valuation of Yoshida from the get go because of his combination of plate discipline and penchant for hard contact. Those two things translate to any and all leagues.
  12. This is UN?'s original account. I've been trying to log back in for a long time, but I lost both my password and the email it was attached to. Shout out to MVP and Jbay for helping me get this one back.
  13. I kinda like the short term deals for starters strategy, as stated before. He's just whiffed on which starter.
  14. Probably. Most of the time. Home is a factor, but enough money on the table can buy out that factor. Not every time though.
  15. But he's technically two 6+ win players. There's the catch.
  16. 1) Casas will be fine. His issue is mostly an approach issue. Hitters with his blend of patience and power almost always take time to adjust to the quality of major league stuff, and what pitches they can take and what pitches they can drive at the ML level. His passivity can only be remedied with PA's. He's in the top 4% of the league in BB%, and he's 68th in MLB in average exit velocity , 78th in barrels, and 50th in barrels per plate appearance. Dude has patience, hits the ball hard consistently, and with good angle. He will rake. 2) Duran doesn't need to be a great hitter to be an important contributor to the team, but he has a good batted ball profile, and has shown elite defense and sprint speed. 3) This lineup should lean a little more RH considering the stadium they play at. 4) I don't think Paxton is the piece in this rotation that needs replacing.
  17. We're missing Gallen this series, so it's as good as time as any to try and gain back some momentum.
  18. I wasn't big on Eflin, but he's proven me wrong so far, even outpitching his FIP instead of pitching below its levels. Some of it probably has to do with the Rays' coaching staff, but still.
  19. I like your positivity, but in the context of the Red Sox, a team that doesn't make the playoffs is a bad team in my humble opinion.
  20. I love Soto, but I'd hold off on him
  21. Oy vey. The point is, the dude needs to work on his plate approach, not just the amount of pitches he sees.
  22. Bellhorn04, talksox diplomat.
  23. Duran needs to be given a true chance.
  24. Ever heard of a joke mate?
