  1. Then he wouldn't have signed Mondesí
  2. I don't get this argument. Wacha has never been as good as his hot May, which he almost certainly won't sustain, and Eovaldi wasn't coming back considering the Sox actually offered him more money than Texas. It's water under the bridge.
  3. Get this man a job in MLB
  4. Highly ironic, but not without merit. Did you read the preceding post though?
  5. Where's the Yankees fan doctor when you need him?
  6. Don't let facts deter you from arguing friend. Rafaela.is just fine, even though it's clear he can't handle AA pitching.
  7. I will take it to the appropriate thread
  8. This thread is about the rotation, not prospects or drafts. Please take that discussion to the assigned thread
  9. Noted. I will stop following the Red Sox the rest of the season, as .525 is not enough to get into the playoffs this season. I'll try my hand at competitive backgammon to fill the void in my "free" time.
  10. In Casas' case, it's probably a snowball effect due to his struggles on offense. In Duran's case, he's put in the work, he's put on the hours, he stays hungry, he devours.
  11. Needs time. He will come around.
  12. Not even remotely the same case. Duran and Casas torched the minors before getting called up. Rafaela is getting dominated by kids who can barely throw strikes. I don't know how else to say this, other than it's common sense.
  13. We'll talk it out over PM. I'll hit you up in a bit. I'm into anything except working today.
  14. I can take a joke. What I mean is, we should probably manage a friendly, perhaps even symbolic wager on the subject.
  15. He's also above the 90th percentile in foot speed, an area where the Sox are very lackluster. Baseball is a game of adjustments, he adjusted, the league adjusted back. We have to wait and see if he can overcome this new approach pitchers are taking against him.
  16. The problem isn't just IP, but also staff ineffectiveness. The Sox have so many comeback wins because the SP give up a lot of runs.
  17. You know what I meant.
  18. Then I say people are entitled and they get mad.
  19. I'd bet actual money on the possibility of him passing JD in WAR though.
  20. The one thing I will say is that they're definitely working on a good, sustainable core. I think that if they can supplement that with a couple of smart signings on the pitching side of the ball, they could build a serious contender for '24. On the other hand, if Sale isn't done for the season, they could do some roster maneuvering before the TDL and still fight for a playoff spot this season. I'm not that down on this team.
  21. Because that's not how player development works. You throw a kid who hasn't shown he can handle AA pitching at MLB pitchers, and they'll crush him. A large component of hitting is mental. Throw a kid at the wolves, and he may never be able to mentally adjust and make good swing decisions, which the guy's not even making right now in MiLB.
  22. Man, why are y'all so down on Duran? Give my man a chance.
