  1. Oliver Perez, lol. Put him in the AL East, see his win-loss record go down the hatch.... He doesn't have the poise or control to earn the kind of coin to bring him to the Sox, i'd rather have Cabrera as a reclamation project.... Btw, explain to me how a guy with that stuff "just sucks", if Oliver Perez is about the same pitcher, but in the much weaker offensively NL?
  2. But that's the problem Gom, Burnett is a Primadonna, and he won't pitch even for a torn fingernail in his left pinky, your assumption is that he stays on the mound more often than not, and the problem with that is, it's not a contract year, so a lame-ass injury is probably not far off.
  3. A package of that size for the coin he's gonna make while not being at LEAST the number 2 starter on this staff is just silly. We're better off keeping our prospects and letting someone else (Cubs) overpay for Peavy.
  4. Wel played! Have a cookie....... http://www.sallys-place.com/food/columns/zonis/Best_Cookie-20.jpg
  5. I still think Peavy would be just an above average pitcher in the AL, so even if he's available, the Sox may be better off passing on him.
  6. Daniel Cabrera. He may be a guy Farrell can fix, and he has filthy stuff, all he needs is to throw strikes.
  7. Not if you read his scouting report. If you're bomb-prone in Japan while playing in a pitcher's park with elite defense behind you, AND have durability issues, then a 4.60 ERA at Fenway might be all too kind.
  8. I lol'd.
  9. I've been expecting the Yanks to sign both CC and Burnett since about the time they fell out of contention, since those would be the typical NYY panic moves to keep the fanbase happy.
  10. Tommy John, and he hasn't been able to regain his control afterward.
  11. I meant that D-Lowe is a known quantity, and Kawakami isn't, so you can't compare him to Lowe when he hasn't thrown a single pitch stateside.
  12. Yhency Brazoban. And he may seem interesting as a reclamation project, but he's not even getting people out in the winter leagues.
  13. I didn't mean in person, but..............oh, nevermind............
  14. It has in fact been reported that said offer is non-existent.
  15. Goes to show to show you that doucheness, like crime, doesn't pay.
  16. http://www.lolpats.com/images/epic_fail.jpg
  17. He'll still make some good money the next 2 years, so my guess is he'd rather contend and test the market if he does really well.
  18. Other sources say he did. http://soxblog.projo.com/2008/12/winter-meetings-22.html
  19. If it's under 7 per, he failed, at or over, epic win for him, how about that?
  20. Putz will set up K-Rod, let there be no doubt in your mind about that.
  21. Wow, that's some pretty good insight right there, and it further strengthens my suspicion that the Nationals bid is pure bull.
