  1. Yes, but you also have to see the possible bouncebacks of underperformers and injured players, (ie: Matsui, Wang, Cano), if those players return to regular production, AND the acquisitions pan out, next season is going to be a struggle.
  2. Smoltz would be a project, since he will not be ready until at least May, this being said, however, i am an advocate of signing him because of the possibility of him being either a SP or RP depending on what the team needs by the time he comes back.
  3. lolazer why u all fight on da interwebz!!!!111!! it's not l337!!!!11!!
  4. Yeah i'm being a dick. Guess i'll let those two fight their own battles.
  5. Maybe he needs anger management classes? Or maybe he needs to stop getting pissed from the childish ******** pinstripezac mixes with kiddy pictures. Really, 26, you're (supposedly) better than that.
  6. And 26 to 6's dad in a manner of speaking.
  7. ROTFFLMFAO http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd132/tri_edge_kite/posters/epic_win.jpg You DESERVE all them f***ing badges!
  8. Where the f*** do you come up with all these silly pictures?
  9. http://www.rumbodigital.com/imagesportal/franklin_mirabal.jpg That's actually the guy who wrote the "Manny signing report", and he's the guy who correctly predicted the Damaso Marte signing a couple months ago, He got lucky that time, but Just For The Record, he's ranked right over G.W in my "Douchebag List" so take his comments with a sack of salt.
  10. It does, even in 3rd world countries like this one, just not to such an embarrasing extent
  11. My problem with Johjima is that apparently he has some problems leading the staff, because he still calls the game the way they play in Japan, which is pitching "backwards", I.E setting up the fastball with breaking balls instead of the other way around. However, it probably will not be a problem if he goes to the Red Sox, who excel at fixing players' flaws. On the offensive spectrum of things, i agree with diony on the accounts that his BABIP, LD% and contact % all suggest that his season was clearly a fluke and he should rebound. However, i think the catcher situation can wait until the Tex one is settled.
  12. As usual, you find the road to WIN, but instead make a left turn at dumbass avenue, and end up in FAIL street. No one is saying they wouldn't look for public funding, you just love strawman arguments, what IS being said here, is the fact that it's preposterous for the Yankees to be asking for public funding after spending $200+ million dollars on TWO free agent pitchers. It's like if when you get your allowance ('cause sometimes i really think you live in your parents' basement) you go and spend all in one night with a one-legged hooker, then come back the next morning to ask your dad for more money.

    Bobby Abreu

He didn't mean the difference between Burrell and Ibanez, he meant the difference between Abreu and Ibanez. Because if i can't have Burrell, i ain't signing Abreu for 15 mill a year, their mistake was letting Burrell go, not signing Ibanez over a much pricier, and if you take home field as a point of reference, maybe less productive Abreu over the course of a 3-year contract, but that's just me.

    Bobby Abreu

    Care to elaborate?
  16. Jamie Moyer is the pinnacle of awesomeness, IMHO, pitching effectively at that age in that launchpad of a stadium is nothing short of amazing.

    Bobby Abreu

If anything , Bobby Abreu is overrated, and his contract demands are ridiculous. He may be a good hitter, but he's horrendous on defense, and his stats are solid, but not $16+ million solid.
  18. Those two posts are full of WIN. Anyways, anyone who thinks the Yankees whoring New York city out of taxpayer money to finance their new stadium after shelling out $200+ million dollars for FA pitchers while in the worst recession the US has seen this century is being plain silly.
  19. 100 walks, but at least he pitched. Not only that, but even though his BB numbers were crazy, we all know he sustained his performance by limiting the number of hits the opposition got against him in scoring situations, and if that was a fluke, so was the 100 BB.
  20. Until half of it gets f***ing injured.
  21. That picture........is motherf***ing brilliant!
  22. If he would spend that kind of money by his own free will, then he is everything Gom says he is and more.
