  1. Yeah how about sticking to the topic and leaving the platitudes. The point is your eyes can deceive you.
  2. No potential CBO is going to want to come with a team that doesn't have a long-term plan, let alone a current identity.

    Playoffs

Even this year, Eovaldi only threw 144 regular season innings. People would've been livid here calling him a failed signing.
  4. Exactly why you don't trust the eye test. They don't have similar stuff, velocity, pitch sequencing, or results for that matter. And both are buyer beware.
  5. Haha, nice.
  6. While this is true (and I have said this before) it's also true that Henry has been all over the place the last 10 years, even with two WS wins. He needs to pick a lane and stick to it.

    See?

    Got ya on track though.
  9. Come on now. All you reptilians know each other.
  10. John Henry's right there!
  11. Are you perchance actually one of Elktonnick's multiple personalities, but on his meds?
  12. There have to be a couple dumb reptilians too.

    Playoffs

So, about the MLB playoffs, it's a pretty cool tidbit that the road team has won every game in both LCS series so far.
  14. I should sig this.
  15. This is what really really scares me.
  16. Put a gun to my head, and I'd say a lot of these candidates are turning down the chance of running the Red Sox because John "Reptilian" Henry won't make up his goddamn mind about the direction this franchise will go long term.
  17. I could not agree more with this. My office has a strategic alliance with another law office in the are, making us essentially one bigger law office. Because of a sudden issue between one of my partners and my secretary, I had to fire her, severance and all, without a ready replacement, and it was a complete f***ing disaster. I was extremely lucky to, by chance, be able to hire the sister of one of my ex-gf's of all people, who had just moved into the city and had secretarial experience in law offices. Moral of the story: You need to keep your s*** together at the organizational level or risk severe dysfunction.
  18. Things are significantly more analytics-driven now, but guys have been using numbers (albeit less advanced) to make their in-game decisions as far back as when Jim Palmer was pitching .
  19. Sabean? Ooooh risky. CBO: Ng GM: Romero
  20. A good point marred by your absolute need to be a raging ****. As I've said before, you could add a lot to the board if you could just omit the ad-hominem s*** from your posts.
  21. Indecisiveness and bad luck go hand in hand. You gotta take your law out of Murphy's hand if you can by attacking processes head on. And by process, I mean building a pitching staff before having to resort to the scrap heap.
  22. The difference is that data is there, compiled, ready to be interpreted, and it's not a "well, maybe they moved the fence, maybe this, maybe that", and that's the point. When arguing these types of topics regarding baseball, it should 80% quantitative and 20% qualitative, not the other way around.
  23. Is he though? He could bounce back.
  24. So about the postseason......
