  1. Good point. I will keep my silly, science-based opinions to myself, and defer to my eye-test overlords.
  2. Chang was fine as a replacement, but counting on anything from Mondesi was foolish.
  3. I'm ESL and probably have a better grasp on ye olde english than you do. But anyways, f*** off then.
  4. What's the point of this post?
  5. This FO sure is good at finding scapegoats. The hit pieces are everywhere.
  6. Shots fired
  7. Times long gone.
  8. It's directly nasty, and not an exercise in intellectual superiority. I don't have to put you on ignore, but the board is a better place if you can make your points, which can be very compelling, without being an insufferable douche. Make of that what you will.
  9. So is it about playing your entire lineup every day, or having a stacked team, even if you manage workloads?
  10. While true, at least he conducts himself within the boundaries of a friendly argument, unlike certain elements here. Cut him some slack.
  11. I see what you did there.
  12. I saw that. Makes sense to me.
  13. Of course the fans didn't support the Astros then as much as they do now that they're winning. But that's all fanbases. No matter how rabid they are, fanbases are comprised mostly of casual fans who turn off a sub-optimal product.
  14. Look at Houston
  15. ...but that would distract from the narrative and help establish a more nuanced analysis. That's not what we do around here.
  16. It's a problem of context. If he was a lefty hitting against righties, he'd hold a lot more cumulative value, but unfortunately, there aren't as many PA's around against lefties. Them's the breaks.
  17. Players aren't one size fits all, they are human beings. They all require different amounts of rest. I think Atlanta's approach is a little extreme, and the general consensus on the matter makes more sense.
  18. Did you read the description? If you look in-depth, there's a lot of info on recovery for players in general too.
  19. Those points apply to both drafting, acquiring international talent, and the free agent market.
  20. Very informative.
  21. That's a lot of negative assumptions. Might I suggest a session of Paw Patrol? Watching that with my kids always make me happy, because those puppies are adorable. Joking aside, it pissed people off, but the truth is, this team is well positioned to contend *if* the right acquisitions are made. This offseason is his litmus test. If the team doesn't succeed, he's toast.
  22. It's practically impossible to build a sustainable contender without either lots of luck, lots of money, or lots of tanking, even if you have top-tier talent on your Baseball Operations offices, and full FO approval. It's even harder with one of those factors out of your control (luck), one of those factors being mitigated by the ruleset MLB currently employs (money), and the third one being an impossibility with a fanbase that has zero chill. Bloom (or anyone in his position) has a very unenviable job, even if he is well compensated.
  23. Bro, seriously, we can all be irritable and argumentative here, but why are you such an *******? You can make your points, even sarcastically, without getting into it with half the board. You even get into arguments with people who agree with you.
  24. He's slightly above replacement level overall. The point about "replacement" in that sentence is that his skillset can be easily replaced.
  25. IF they can play. Extremes are always bad.
