  1. Jack Cust was released by the A's. So, uh, how about that middle of the order now?
  2. Pedro was the only special appearance that was cool. Neil Diamond and Steven Tyler can't carry a tune anymore. This was a great way to kick off the season.
  3. Duke dominated. Good to see a local kid like Scheyer play well in the spotlight. People around here were down on him for not going to U of I. I'd say he picked the right school.
  4. LOL Jerry Manuel. That's taking the R, L, R thing way too far. Mike Jacobs sucks.
  5. I never had any desire to catch a game at the Metrodome. The Twins got this one right, except I still think the fields needs a retractable roof.
  6. 100% agree that UZR is a flawed metric.
  7. Exactly. You couldn't pay me enough money to get me to go to a night game in April in that frozen tundra.
  8. NWIH should he go in the HOF. Very good, durable, and consistent pitcher. Pitched well in big games. But he never dominated. And he was a juicer.
  9. Will Ron Mahay make the Twins' roster? Not that he's a world beater these days, but I'd much rather have him than Schoeneweis.
  10. Eesh. Tito should be fired if he ever lets him face a right-handed hitter.
  11. Why in God's name is Betty White hosting SNL? Way to stay relevant, Lorne Michaels.
  12. Believe me, I feel your pain. When the Hawks lose to teams like the Blue Jackets, you really have to wonder how far they can go in the postseason. Came back strong against Minnesota last night, but the next team (New Jersey) will be a true test of where this team stands right now. If they can't even get 1 point out of that game, I think we're looking at a first round exit.
  13. That's fair. Under the premise that both bullpens are a wash and the Sox have the edge in SP, the Sox would then have a slight edge in overall pitching.
  14. Took the words right out of my mouth.
  15. The Yankees have a better lineup. No one is disputing that. But the Sox have the edge in pitching and defense. We'll see how it plays out.
  16. Trade proposal and PM sent.
  17. Juan Miranda's bat looks MLB-ready to me. Maybe not as a starter, but for sure as a bench player.
  18. Well played, sir.
  19. Texas isn't close to Boston as a baseball market. For all those reasons, the Rangers would be a great fit for Beckett. However, not the best park to pitch in if you tend to give up the gopher ball.
  20. No big loss. He's not that good.
  21. Agreed. The charge was 50-50. Scheyer only swung his elbows after he got hacked in the back, which was after he called the timeout. Duke's perimeter shooting and second chance points put them over the top. Not the most talented Duke team ever, but Coach K knows how to bring out the best in his players.
  22. And to think you tried to get Burnett from me straight up for Davis. Porcello is much more in line with what he's worth. Although I still think you made out here. Porcello has a helluva lot more upside than Davis.
