Got very lucky with Adam Laroche today. If Morneau wasn't day to day and if the Mets had been scheduled to play a game today, I wouldn't have picked him up to be a fill-in.

Depending on the severity of Escobar's injury, I may be interested in Bartlett or Drew.

I'm not a believer in Fister. His MiLB numbers are underwhelming. Traditionally, he's gotten hit pretty hard. He's one of those guys who has had success in MLB (in a SSS) where you're like, "How did that happen?"

Yeah, can't fault you for the moves. You got the right pitchers with the right matchups. Sometimes, it just inexplicably blows up in your face. When Gom picked up Zito, I thought for sure it would blow up in his face. Zito has been overachieving, and tonight he was facing the Cardinals. Shows how much I know.

Y228 has been critical of Girardi for a long time. Anyways... read this post on Rotoworld about the A-Rod-Braden incident, and I liked it: 1. ARod did what he did on purpose. Braden was pitching well and ARod thought this would be a good tactic to try and rattle him. Which it did. But it also shows ARod knows it's taboo to do it. Bigger picture, ARod is one of those tools who would do something like this and think it's the right way to go about things. Evidence, calling for a flyball in Toronto when rounding the bases...slapping the ball out of Arroyo's glove...taking steroids....all things a classy player wouldn't do and a classless player would. 2. Braden overreacted but I liked it. The A's are a young team and beat the Yankees ace yesterday. What I would have liked is to see more Oakland players reacting like Braden did. Remeber when the Rays fought the Red Sox in spring training? Sometimes a young team needs an us against the world mentality and Braden showed he's not afraid of the Evil Empire. 3. ARod's reaction only solidified how much class he lacks. Two things I hate in sports...when a player says he's too good for another player and when people say "scoreboard...scoreboard...". Being a great baseball player does not make you a great human being and it's a shame ARod feels it's within his rights to pull bush league moves and then tries to turn his nose up at players who call him out.

Snyder would be a good acquisition. However, if they got him, I'm pretty sure it would spell the end for Ortiz because you'd still want to give V-Mart ABs, and the only way to do that would be to make him the DH. Or they could cut Varitek and V-Mart and Ortiz would share time as the DH. That seems less likely to happen.

I certainly hope he was being facetious. Lester will get it together. Of that I am certain.
